Title: M383 & M592 ECUs with CAN Interface inside
Post by: eliotroyano on December 20, 2012, 11:01:35 AM
Friends I have doubt about M383 and M592 ECUs of 1.8T engines. I have some of these ECUs and all of them have an AN82527 (Intel CAN Controller) IC inside. Also checking out the ECU's pinout, I found that pins 29 & 41 are refered as CAN Data Bus. Check out the pics in the attachment. Then my question is, could be posible that we can communicate with these ECUs using CAN protocol?

No. Any can-bus will be for communicating with other modules in the car. Communication with the ecu is done over the k-line.

Understood, but would be very useful to have CAN communication and capabilities with these ECUs.
