NefMoto

maybe this is just silly but I thought some of us that decal "decorate" our vehicles would like to add a NefMoto decal. Is this something that is available?

If i can get an svg i can make designs and print them for free from there i can send it to anyone for postage only.

dunno what an svg is but I'm down, but I wouldn't mind paying for automotive decals instead of some nasty paper ones thats going to fade and wash off though. maybe made of vinyl or something?

Its just a file format. I can make real decals for free no problem.

I was thinking the engine symbol like on the top corner of the web page and saying "Tuned by me via NefMoto" or something like that or maybe just "NefMoto" in a cool font or the whole name like "nefariousmotorsports.com" or just "nefariousmotorsports".

I have contacted Tony and asked him permission and the logo itself. Then i will create several designs and sizes and then people can choose which one they want. Hope it will work out.

I'm cool with people making stickers and decals. It is something I've thought of myself, and I even had some samples made in the past. I'm getting the source images rnagy86 now, and I will probably post everything here as well in case any aspiring artists want to play with them.

Here is a GIMP file containing all of the different layers for the main NefMoto imagery. You need GIMP to open it and work with it.

they can't be all that expensive to have made. I imagine they will charge more per piece for a lesser total amount. maybe a group buy can happen. I'll post back with details in the near future.

Hey if anyone has a design made up I have a good sticker source I can get some made up at.   I'm not verygood at design tho so if anyone has an image they think would be cool send it my way.

Would anyone know what font the NefMoto Logo is, by chance?

I imagine if you DLed the file with the logos and imported that into Gimp it should tell you. I haven't done this myself though so I'm not certain about it.

Looks like arial. It's not a very attractive font.

I did dl it. But they're image layers and not actual text. Or as far as i can tell. Gimp is kinda foreign to me still, im familiar with photoshop

I'm in the tri-state area, I do graphic design and well as printing. (cutting, signing ect) For those locals I'd be glad to hand them out gratis.  ;)

Hopefully the actual font can be found. I like it just like I see it on the web page.

I'm not sure how it works so forgive my ignorance but can't the design just be copied into a computer and a CNC machine just cut out the vinyl stickers?

I like the regular font too. I cant find one where the 't' is straight like that. I'll look around online and hopefully i'll find something.

I like the bottom one that says NefariousMotorsports as like a banner w/o the motor. but it's kinda fine and probably hard to read irl.

I wanted to just use the site design, but it's so low res. So i wanted to recreate it to be more flexible or whatever.

What about this? It's pretty close but the kerning after the 'f' is bit tight. 

that's close. whats it look like bold and with just a slight more space between the letters? Does that do anything for the "f"?

That's already bold lol. I kerned it better and fixed the motor a little. Peep it.

Well that was a pain in the ass. The file i was working from kept crashing illustrator. Anyways, fixed that.

Edit 2: Ok some of the edges are weird. Primarily in the O's and the N's in the motors.

I would prefer one color and multi would take more time to make but if multi color is prefered than I guess I have no choice haha.

Nah i'd rather design around what would be easiest to produce. I'm totally fine with solid colors.

Did you figure out the original font? I was thinking of hitting Tony up on Twitter to ask. I spent some time trying to figure it out using the file he uploaded here in Gimp but it wouldn't let me edit the text and it didn't say what it was but "Sans" font was preset in the text editor when I pulled up the file.

I did the same thing with the gimp file. I couldn't find the exact one but I thought the one I used was about as close as I could get.

Doesn't need to be vector. I can work with raster images. I make traces with the software anyway. Vector is preferred though

We're talking like press-on peel-off-paperback decals right? Not shitty stickers? I'll try to get together some measurements for what I want. I know I want a few copies of a few designs. Do you want compensation for your trouble?

Paper back peel off are stickers. Decals are aka vinyl. I'm offering vinyl.

Yeah,  when I said peel off I meant after you apply it to the surface. It has two paper halves right? Or am I being an idiot...

Did you try Sans? I was able to use the text editer in GIMP to write more words on a slide and it seemed to match, especially the "f" in Nefmoto perfectly.

I would like a "Nefariousmotorsports.com" approx 9inches long so that it can sit under the engine symbol where I apply them. And a couple/few just "NefMoto" approx 6 x 2 inches. 1 in black and the other 2 in Silver or clear.

Lol no worries, just want to make sure. When you said back peel I was thinking stickers. Yeah its the remove backing, apply and remove transfer tape type of decal. The ones that are used to cover half of the rear window by vw owners. :P

I went back and checked. I spent like 2 hours looking everywhere for the font or one that was close; I'd kick myself pretty hard if it was set to the right one by default. This is what sans looks like on my pc.

Yeah, I see that I can get a roll of transparent. It shows up on my list.

I didn't think to blow it up. I made it the same size as the ori but now I see the differences. The "M" is different also.

I tried to find Sans on MSword and it wasn't available. I could only find it on Gimp. There must be a font pack for it I haven't DLed.

This just occurred to me... What if Tony used more than 1 font to create the logo...? :-\

I was thinking the same thing. When I was looking for fonts I was primarily looking for one with a straight 't'.  I might try tomorrow to combine the one I found and sans to get the 'f'; hopefully it won't look wonky. Either way, I'm pretty content with what we have

I know I want:
These in both Silver and White
the motor logo w/ NefMoto  6 inches x how ever tall it is
"NefariousMotorsports" that is 15mm tall
"NefariousMotorsports" that is 7 inches long

And just a 5 inch wide motor logo in whatever color you have that's close to CEL color. so yellow or orange or whatever.

I hope that's not too much to ask. I'll pay if you want, I feel bad

There are multiple "revisions" I don't know which ones you want. Sure, if you want to cut the .svg up that would save some time.

I like the Logo with just Tuned by NefMoto, that's my vote, or Tuned by Nefarious Motorsports.
