Title: Ecu Changeover 2.7t S4 8D0907551d --> 8D0907551m Problems
Post by: turboooo on January 05, 2013, 02:53:44 PM
Hey,

is it possible to change an ECU from 8D0907551d (Europe) --> (8D0907551m) USA.
My "D" version only has lambda sensors in front of the catalyst. It also has an Bosch MAF.

Are there otherwise large differences or can I go for hunting "M" version`?

Why do you want to do that?

My "d" version seems to be damaged. and I have a "M" version on my junkyard... (very cheap)...

If you want it to run the stock software just flash the original 8D0907551D file to the M ECU because the hardware is the same and it will run perfectly fine.

If you want to tune your car you better run the M file because there is a fully defined XDF file for it and it's easier to tune however you have to do some
modifications to the file to run perfectly on an European car.
First you either have to convert to a Hitachi MAF or use 8D0907551M_boschmaf_vlmspec_stock.bin which can be downloaded from the Tuned ECU Files section
from this forum. That file is converted to a bosch maf already.

But this is not enough for a European car.

You also have to disable rear O2s and set CLALDPE and CLACINS to 0.

sorry for the long time of wait to reply... Thanks for the detailed response. I´ll take the M version.. I have to change some things.. we will see if it works fine ;) at the moment there is some mechanical work to do... (only 30psi compression on Cyl.No.2)  ::) :o >:(

Is the RS4 throttle response voltage/angle different to S4? I´´ll ride RS4 intake ..
