I know Rothe Motorsport ask 250 Title: Re: Golf 6 .:R ESP off Post by: Tony@NefMoto on January 19, 2011, 12:47:07 PM In the B5 S4 I know that there is a fuse you can pull to disable ESP. It is the only way to fully turn it off.
Title: Re: Golf 6 .:R ESP off Post by: chimeric on November 29, 2012, 10:10:59 AM The interesting part, is that in other parts of the world, the ESP can be disabled by
pressing and holding the ESP button for 3 seconds, but in the USA, it does not work, even though we have all the hardware in the car that allows for it. It is evident it's a program issue, and wonder how one can switch on the ESP disabling function in the eeprom, like the rest of the world can. Title: Re: Golf 6 .:R ESP off Post by: phila_dot on November 29, 2012, 10:38:54 AM ESP is handled by the ABS module on ME7 cars. The torque intervention it produces is from values received over CAN and processed by the ECU.
I know nothing about the Golf R, but I would assume the ABS module is still part of the process. Title: Re: Golf 6 .:R ESP off Post by: chimeric on November 29, 2012, 03:07:23 PM yeah, the abs module is the same part number as the canadian cars, yet they still have ESP disabling ability, and we don't, and soft coding don't look very different, wonder how can I get my ABS module to wake up, when i press the ESP off button for 3 seconds, like CA's R's can do...

I just wanted to add that the torque intervention (fast and slow) from ESP can be disabled in the ECU. Title: Re: Golf 6 .:R ESP off Post by: prj on November 30, 2012, 01:24:32 AM Interesting, on my RS4 if I press the ESP button, it goes off permanently.
Tested @ 150 km/h on ice ;) Title: Re: Golf 6 .:R ESP off Post by: rnagy86 on November 30, 2012, 03:27:26 AM Interesting, on my RS4 if I press the ESP button, it goes off permanently. Tested @ 150 km/h on ice ;) Same here, I never had to pull any fuses to turn the ESP completely off. Europe / NA differences again I guess... Title: Re: Golf 6 .:R ESP off Post by: aef on November 30, 2012, 05:07:33 AM Hey Guys,
i will do my very best to explain this in english: User VCDS, goto Stearing-Assistent 44 Go to Channel 09 which should be Steering Angle Sensor Change it from 0 to 1 This should deactivate the Steering Angle Sensor and the ESP cant work -> 100% off This is how german tuner Hohenester does it for 80€ Please report back! enjoy Title: Re: Golf 6 .:R ESP off Post by: chimeric on December 01, 2012, 11:11:50 AM oh, the long code change obviously is to 03 ABS Brakes (module) via vcds/vag-com

Title: Re: Golf 6 .:R ESP off Post by: chimeric on December 01, 2012, 08:57:23 PM Thank you, but it is even simpler than I thought.
Digit 13 still gets changed to an 8 Digit 30 needs to be changed to a 1, if it needs to be changed. Do it! Done  Title: Re: Golf 6 .:R ESP off Post by: aef on December 07, 2012, 02:35:05 AM http://www.goapr.com/support/esp-defeat.html

1. My company finds solution 2. Vortex steals solution 3. Guy makes .js to do code change on external site 4. APR gets cred. ;D ;D ;D Title: Re: Golf 6 .:R ESP off Post by: chimeric on May 17, 2013, 12:51:57 PM Dotuning (you) did find this first, a rough soft code (resembled Canadian cars more than the US version) that I simply refined down to a 1-2 digit. Maybe if you did not cheese notavr you would have been permitted that whole weekend of sales.
Karma. Title: Re: Golf 6 .:R ESP off Post by: Gonzo on May 18, 2013, 08:53:39 PM 4. APR gets cred. AssholesTitle: Re: Golf 6 .:R ESP off Post by: TC1767 on February 08, 2014, 06:48:40 AM Hello,
I tried that and the coding I get (please see picture attached) isnt accepted from the control unit, it only accepts the other way round, so that first change get "01" and second change gets "80". Could it be that there is an error in this script because according to the bits below it must be the other way round ? Thank you for any help Title: Re: Golf 6 .:R ESP off Post by: Gonzo on February 08, 2014, 06:52:15 AM Ask APR? :P
Title: Re: Golf 6 .:R ESP off Post by: SB_GLI on February 12, 2014, 05:03:12 PM I'd like to know how to do this on our 2010 Tiguan. Tried "APR's" soft coding helper and errrrrrr.
