Title: can not connect

ok so ive been trying and trying to get my cable to connect and it wont do it it just keeps saying

Failed to read test echo from FTDI device.
Could not open FTDI device.

I think I re did the drivers right and when i hover over the ross tech usb device it says premium features supported but it wont do anything please help

You need to deselect "Boot in intelligent mode" in the VCDS settings.

Also, it doesn't hurt to install the VCP (virtual com-port) drivers as well, as they're needed for argdubs tool, and many others.

Did u ever figure out what the issue was? im having the same error but i'm using a dumb cable so not really sure, I think its a driver issue.

Try to uninstall the drivers. http://www.ftdichip.com/FTDrivers.htm

Get the latest and then try again. Let us know.

Use the newest drivers from the FTDI site - I use the Virtual ones, seem to work first time, every time.  Using a cheap eBay copy.

Make sure your port number is right in device manager, if not, change it between 1 and 4.

I like it set at 3.  If you switch USB ports, the port number sometimes changes, so try and always use the same port!
