Title: Help with checksums ME7
Post by: GWerks on February 01, 2011, 04:21:58 PM
Hey guys,

I'm now getting started, I don't have much background doing this, but it's something I have always wanted to do. Before I asked this question on here, I did research and I can't find much about this.

I have NefMoto's software to flash, and I'm trying to use TunerPro to edit maps since I don't seem to understand WinOLS much. I just need to know how to do the checksums, I know both of these software have plugins that you buy and they do it for you, but I don't want to pay the high price for the WinOLS checksum plugin and the TunerPro seems to be free but I seriously can't seem to figure it out.

This is the only thing I have left before I can start to do some work. I would really appreciate it if one of you took the time to teach me a little while I'm still doing research. It would be awesome.

Thanks a lot.

I have considered that option also, but I want to wait. I have been told that there is FREE plugins.

It would be nice if someone would send me a PM and tell me where. There has to be a free solution, but if there isn't I will just buy whatever I need to.

Hi GWerks, maybe you are not correctly configuring the checksums tab in TunerPro. If you explain to me exactly where you are stuck I can see to give you a hand.
Also please make sure you are using the latest version of TunerPro (v5.00.7532) because it will not work with earlier versions.

Oh man! I was working with the 4.0 or something, just uninstalled that and installed the latest version non-RT. And now it crashes... =(

We should follow this issue only on one forum to keep data consistent. I think it is best to do it on the tunerpro forum seeing that it is better related.

Well, I still can't get the Bosch_VAG_ME7.dll file to work with TunerPro.

I have downloaded the latest version, and attempted everything. So if anyone is using TunerPro to do the checksums, help me please!

I pasted the file Bosch_VAG_ME7.dll in C:Program Files:TunerPro:Plugins and when I try to select the plugin module, it will only let me chose ''TunerPro default checksum plugin''

I have updated all plugins to better support Vista & Windows 7. Hope this resolves all issues.

1) You need tunerpro v5.00.7532;
2) You need the latest updated dll v0.9.2 from my site;
3) Follow the instructions in the Readme file.

If you still have problems give me more details and I'll try to help.

I forgot to mention that without the license file it will only verify if your BIN file is compatible. For licensing options look at the webpage on my www or send me an email.

ahh i figured it out...
i had the .dll file in the document>plugin folder with the license file. not in the tuner pro directory where it was suppossed to be.

thanks and i will purchase a license soon enough.

It took me a little to figure it out, I must say the customer service has been great and I can correct checksums now with TunerPro..it's awesome!

Actually I believe that it's a bug in TunerPro which I will signal to Mark on his forum asap. Mark states in his documentation that all user plugins should be in the folder "Documents\TunerPro Files\Plugins" and that plugins in the "C:\Program Files\TunerPro" directory should only be the default ones installed by the tunerPro installation.

Overall this actually makes sense because if you uninstall TunerPro it will delete the "C:\Program Files\TunerPro" directory and leave "Documents\TunerPro Files" untouched so you will not accidentally erase all definitions/bins/plugins/etc...

I, like you have found that TunerPro will create a "Documents\Plugins" directory but this is not how it should work & plugins put in there will not be loader by TunerPro at boot.
