Title: K04-015 kompressor map
Post by: masterj on April 16, 2013, 08:57:10 AM
Hi, guys!
Can someone show me K04-015 kompressor map?

On the internet there are few kompressor maps for K04, but not sure which one is 015.

On s4wiki there is KKK K04 - 2078 EYE  and KKK K04 - 0025 but I think they're for different K04s...

k04-015 should be similar to k04-001 ,but the others are for tt225 and s3 etc... which have higher output.

K04-015 runs the 2209 compressor as found in the k03s turbo. The 2075 is the k04-023 compressor wheel

The k04-0015 has folowing BorgWarner name:

K04-2075EAC4.82KCAXK

So it has the 2075 compressor, not 2209 (Which does not even exist!)

K04-023 has 2275 compressor.

A "2209" would be absolutely senseless, as the 09 would be a 9% inducer diameter of 2.2" (~5mm inducer diameter *lol*)

2075 =  2" exducer diameter (~51mm) and 75% of that inducer diameter ~38,25mm.

Ok, that makes more sense :-)

This wheel is used in k03 turbochargers from 1.4L TSI engines.

Funny thing about it:

This wheel doesn't follow the common BorgWarner designation.

It is called "2074", so it should have 51mm exducer and 37.8mm inducer, but it has 54mm exducer and 37.8mm inducer. It actually should be called "2170" *lol*

Very true but the tfsi compressor has ETT. Extended tips, so the extra isn't included in the exducer measurement. I guess a marketing ploy?! And the inducer has a new curved shape to it making bigger in profile but not dimension. It's all about making more surface area for the same size. I have a 1.4 tfsi wheel and a k03s. If you see any billet ones they sell the k03s wheels in the same size and shape as the 1.4tfsi but not the actual 1.4 tfsi as that would be copying! If you can use the 1.4tfsi over the k03s it is a better wheel.

You are certainly correct about the ET design. I forgot about that :-)

And you are also correct about the "get the most possible area", I use newer design also for my upgrade turbos, in below picture you can clearly see the "old" (and used) style on the left vs. new design on the right:
