Title: Greetings! C5 RS6 owner here
Post by: mrdave on April 21, 2013, 09:18:57 AM
Hello, this is a great community you guys have here! I've been spending all of my spare time reading everything I can since ddillenger introduced me to this site yesterday. I'm a hands-on DIY guy more for the learning challenge and sense of accomplishment rather than trying to save a buck, so I love sites like this.

I have a 2003 RS6 that I purchased about a year ago and as far as I know it's 100% stock. I have several plans for it that I'm hoping to learn about on this forum:

  • Short term: add a couple immobilizer keys for a remote start install
  • Medium term: manual transmission swap / TCU delete?
  • Long term: it would be awesome to create my own tune someday

I do have a few questions for you guys. Are most of the members here professional tuners or is this more of an all-questions-welcome hobbyist community? I won't be looking for handouts, just wondering if there are any topics that are "off limits?" Also, once I get my cables in the mail, is there anything I can contribute right away (considering my currently limited knowledge)? How many other RS6 owners are on here?

I'm not a RS6 owner but have tuned a fair few of them, including four auto to manual conversions...
Welcome to the forum.

You can ask any question which is not easily found in 5 minutes by searching.
If you ask blatant questions that have been answered many times, then you will usually get attitude, apart from that we tend to be fairly friendly.

The on-site search is horrible, use google with "site:nefariousmotorsports.com <your terms>" to search this site.

Good luck.

Greetings Mr Dave :)

I own a C5 RS6 that I've tuned, thanks to a lot of reading from here and some hard work. I do all the work on the car myself, with the exception of the TCU remap which I had to buy in from MTM. If you get stuck, ask anything... If i've not done it on the RS6, someone else like prj will have :)

What cables you buying in? A standard KKL cable will sort you out for the immobiliser and MPPS seems the way to go for flashing duties.

Cheers,

Sweegie
