Title: Help with E39 M5 - MSS.52 Running open loop?
Post by: t4nation on May 16, 2013, 06:27:08 AM
Hi guys

Recently bought an E39 M5 but I think it has a fuelling issue which at the moment I can only point to the map.
Basically the engine appears to always run open-loop fuelling or ‘rich’ lambda (a lot of hydrocarbons out the back and very very bad fuel consumption).  Both lambdas have been changed, and you can see that they do switch to lean on overrun so they are working correctly.  Fuel pressure has been checked out ok.  This issue is on both banks so suggesting this is not a failed injector on one bank etc.  What’s interesting is that there doesn’t appear to be any fuel adaptation happening as per screenshot below:

Lambda from start-up:

I have attached the file from the ECU maybe someone can have a look and see if anything has been changed in there to cause this fuelling?  Any ideas?  ???
