Title: Which MAF for GT28RS with tune camshaft in AUQ?
Post by: tbm on May 28, 2013, 01:02:29 PM
Hi Guys,

I've installed GT28RS and CatCams camshafts in my AUQ engine because of this I want to change MAF instead my stock MAF. I suppose I need MAF up to 350-400 HP and I studied many forums and decided to install MAF (0280218065) from BAM 225hp engine but I didn't manage to buy new this one MAF.
So could someone suggest me which MAF I should use in order to tune my engine up to 350 - 400 HP without issues with MAF calibration in ECU?

Thanks in advance!

S4 maf. Get a bosch (from a 2000) and it'll plug right in to your car. 75mm of goodness with a readily available transfer sheet.

Hi ddillenger!
Did you mean Bosch MAF (0280218038) from 2.7TT engine (AGB, AZB)?

That is the one I meant. 078906461B 0280218038. I suppose you could consider the rs4 maf as well, also bosch, also plug and play, but it's significantly larger than what you need, and the S4 units are virtually given away as everyone switches to hitachi, or a larger unit.

As far I understood stock S4 MAF (0280218038) has 73mm diameter and measure mass limit in 337 g/s, am I right?
And all parameters which I will need I can get from stock chip from that engine?

ddillenger, could you please clarify what I asked?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry, yes. Snag the MLHFM and MLOFS from any early 2000 s4/a6 flash. I can upload the data if you can't find it.

Thanks a lot for your clarification!!!
And the last question :) - I was correct with "mass limit in 337 g/s"?

320g/s is the limit.

320g/s is the limit.
320g/s is about 250 HP therefore I will need to do scaling, right? If yes, could you please explain - if we should anyway do scaling why we can't do scaling for stock MAF? Thanks in advance!

More like 400hp...
Also, I don't think you should be tuning your car just yet - have a read about how a MAF works and why what you suggested is ridiculous.

you need to read more , for 250hp flow would be approx 200g/s

Hi All,

As far as I know 320 g/s * 0.8 = power in HP.

And I agree with each of you I should read more about MAF and I'm reading and learning now that's why I asked about MAF etc.

I think you got division and multiplication mixed up.

Oh, sorry, exactly!
