Title: 2.0 coils, bypassing stock wiring Post by: ddillenger on June 06, 2013, 05:30:13 PM So I know someone here must have done this, I've got the 2.0 coil conversion ready to go in, but I can't see the need to have the ICM wiring spliced together. I'd like to just remove it all and run the coils right to the ecu, but I can't seem to find a diagram. Anyone BTDT?

Here's a picture that shows what pin goes to what pin based on connector orientation. You can wire it straight through eliminating the jumper connection pictured and save about $40 in extra parts.

I assembled a kit for others for under $150 and that's with the cost of the coils. Which coils are you running?

I bought one extra (also new) 12 bucks plus shipping. I bought some coil adapters from a touarge (6 bucks each give or take, so 36 bucks) and the coil harnesses were 7 bucks a piece. The whole ordeal cost me under 120 bucks shipped.
Every time I see a good deal on NEW coils on ebay I buy them. I have 2 sets of 07k's, 2 sets of 06H's, and one set of 077's. All new in the boxes. I attempted a repair/upgrade when I was assured by my previous tuner that the root cause of my misfires was spark plug or coil related.

Took a day to wire up everything but no more misfires.
