Title: ME7 wont even open at all on windows XP SP3 Post by: Daviddoesntgaf on June 17, 2013, 07:57:24 AM i was running Win7 and was able to open ME7 yesterday but my china cable 's driver wouldnt work with it so i switched over to XP SP3 and now ME7 wont open at all. i click my desktop icon and i get the loading mouse icon and then nothing.

If its not running, you likely have a bum shortcut. Did you install the GUI properly? reinstall ME7L and reinstall the GUI. You can also try using the hardware in compatibility mode just like you can software for W7. Good luck. oh ya, I don't think Nefmoto flasher will run on xp. You should be able to find out for sure by going to the thread where you downloaded the software. I'm sure Tony would have stated somewhere whether it will run or not. Tony: I installed the newest version for him, made sure his drivers were up to date and ran as an administrator. The program will not open on his computer. It doesn't appear in the task manager either. I tried running it from the directory as well, same results. It's perplexing. I feel bad for him, he paid for a tune (J-fonz/Gwerks) and can't flash it. Methinks they should send their files off with MPPS cables or something.

Log files are located in your user appdata directory. Something like: C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Nefarious Motorsports\ Also, make sure you are up to date on Windows Update. I had to do a fresh install on my garage computer after a power outage crapped my windows installation beyond repair. When installing Windows updates, antivir and other necessities, I remembered that Nefmoto needs .NET Framework 3.5 to work. I installed this manually before I installed Nefmoto. Everything worked before just fine with the same setup but after the fresh install, Nefmoto wouldn't start. Just opened the process for a few seconds and shut down without the main window. My fix was to uninstall .NET and Nefmoto, reboot, install Nefmoto and launch the .NET install from Nefmoto installer.
Maybe it was a localization or some kind of .NET framework version issue, I'm using Finnish WinXP. Worth a try if You're having similar problems. |
