Title: Misfire Under Boost
Post by: Zacklanduyt on June 17, 2013, 05:23:18 PM
Hey guys I am running a stage 2+ which spikes to 19psi and tapers out to about 17-18psi, once I build boost I have a steady misfire that will usually last about 2000rpm and then clear up and pull hard, I have double platinum plugs gapped to about .030 everything else is in working order, what kind of plugs/gap do you guys run? I am aware that it could be coils but any suggestion so I don't have to replace them just yet, also the misfire is definitely random throwing codes for cyl. 2,3,4,5 and 6 s.o coils could be weak but it seems unlikely that they would all go at once, also the misfire didn't start until after I replaced the plugs, and I pulled them all to check for cracks etc. and everything looked good. Thanks for any help you guys can give, also car is a 2001.5 Audi S4

Gap them to .028 or even .022

BKR7E (or EIX if you're too lazy to replace them every other oil change). .025-.028

Exhaust manifold is stock?
If yes gap the spark plugs or use the f5dp0r and check again.
