Title: Tools for changing ME7 adaptation channels
Post by: Tony@NefMoto on September 03, 2009, 03:32:06 PM
Here are two programs that allow you to change your adaptation channels.

Lemmiwinks only works over a serial RS232 cable, or USB cable running as a virtual com port.

UniSettings works with FTDI based USB cables.

A couple of pieces of information that my be useful to some people.

Successfully used Lemmiwinks with an FTDI cable that I had purchased on ebay several years ago. The same cable I have used successfully with wbh-diag and VAG-COM/VCDS. The cable was $20-30 if I recall correctly. The generic Windows XP FTDI Serial-USB driver came with the cable and one can easily find it online. My linux boxes recognize the FTDI cable but I have not tried a virtual OS accessing the cable to do tweaking from the hosted OS. We have had limited success so far with hosted OSs using the FTDI OBD2-port cables.

The cars were a B5 S4 2000 (A-box) and a 2001 A4 1.8T (CH-box I think)

Should the unisettings work with the Vagcom (Ross tech) cable. I tried but no success.
My cable works with you flash tool.

The only way I could successfully get this working was to use the FTDI drivers, with the vendor and hardware ID's changed to that of the vag-com cable in the driver inf.  I may have posted the modified drivers here somewhere before.

That is good thinking and good hacking! We want some more details on this site or some Wiki section preferably. Nice.

I am wondering or i am misunderstanding a thing here.
Little help please? :)

Channel 4 :Ch04 : Start Up Fuel Enrich

Channel 5 :Warm Up fuel Enrich

What does this actually mean? I keep mixing between those two.

I have a file that am looking into , trying to learn of.
It starts good when it is stone Cold, and it starts good when it is worm.
It is there inbetween there is a problem. If i have been driving and leave the car for a 20-30 min. Start cranking it gets often flooded. It is too rich.
Which one of those channels do i have to adapt?

ch4
but if you want to fix this problem you need to diagnose you car when the problem appears
in most cases it is coolant sensor fault

No it is not the problem. I am running E85 and live in a very Cold climate.
I have a couple of files that work well at any starts.
I just choose this one in learning purposes.
If i would take a look at the file in Tunerpro. Which maps should i search for Cold and lukewarm starts?
Thanx for answer mate.
