Title: Galletto windows 7 help Post by: mk4monster on July 20, 2013, 10:49:05 AM Hi all i am trying to run galletto from my windows 7 laptop using my ftdi cable. I've asigned the driver to the cable and i've changed the serial of the program. When I click ecu data the loading symbol comes up and doesn't respond. Is this software supposed to be used on windows 7? really want to load in my binary file (1.9 tdi pd). I've tried galletto download from various sources, i've also tried mpps but can't find in the hex where the serial is to adapt my cable please help!!

Title: Re: Galletto windows 7 help Post by: mk4monster on July 20, 2013, 12:49:37 PM thank you very much! i'll scowl previous posts to find out how to run in boot mode!!
Title: Re: Galletto windows 7 help Post by: mk4monster on July 20, 2013, 03:11:55 PM Had a look and i'm struggling do I have to have the ecu on a bench do put it into boot mode?
Title: Re: Galletto windows 7 help Post by: jackson.amrol@gmail.com on July 20, 2013, 03:37:08 PM Here's now to change your serial number. I find it's usually easier to search google.com for posts on here, and other related sites.
Title: Re: Galletto windows 7 help Post by: jackson.amrol@gmail.com on July 20, 2013, 04:10:43 PM Sorry I thought I included a link. I'm not sure this is relevant but there's a post for a proper English version of Galletto with some good info about serial numbers, and other stuff. There's also something else kicking around pretty sure it was for Galletto so it wouldn't check for serial numbers at all..ftdichip.com maybe? Anyway.. I used their drivers, or the generic ones under the link you downloaded nefmoto. Galletto does not support the win7 platform. but i got it to work, then fail, then I got frustrated and just dug out an old xp laptop. There was a website link I found on here, (angry chicken) or some really odd name it hosted pictures of a bunch of different ecu boot pin locations. I've been jumping between more than a couple different computers lately. I don't have links on hand.

(i've got vag com and vag tacho so have previous experience) got everything sorted for windows 7 but didn't want to run, i'll load xp onto my spare hard drive saves hassle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Title: Re: Galletto windows 7 help Post by: jackson.amrol@gmail.com on July 20, 2013, 09:31:25 PM Haha, See. I knew it was around somewhere. I've been up for a while.. But have you seen my keys?

I'll come hold it, but I require weekly beer changes and levels checked every 48 hours
Title: Re: Galletto windows 7 help Post by: mk4monster on July 21, 2013, 06:41:31 AM have tried putting this software on xp and couldn't asign the driver to the cable!
This is really starting to bother me now, i made a little video showing what it's doing before and after I plug cable in to computer (windows 7), the other end isn't plugged into car! I had to manually delete, and give the new ones their cozy new home. Installed the Cable, then let windows discover the other usb devices. While I haven't slept yet, that most definitely makes the most sense of anything I've said in...2 days?.. Trout fishing, then nap time.
Title: Re: Galletto windows 7 help Post by: mk4monster on July 22, 2013, 01:30:49 PM That did make sense mate! ;) deleting my drivers seems unsuccessful 2 are throwing up error, really really aggrovating me now! If anything its got worse when I click read ecu I can't even shut it in task manager it goes weird! I've made it run as administrator, compatability windows xp sp3, I've coded serial on program to cable and its still being a pain in the a**e! making me lose sleep! hope some one can understand and help me!!!!!!

Am i meant to be running the program straight from the folder through the 1260obd application or is there a way of properly installing it???
Title: Re: Galletto windows 7 help Post by: jackson.amrol@gmail.com on July 22, 2013, 06:09:22 PM Personally I would focus on one thing at a time. <-do what as I say, not as I do. Get the xp machine going. It's meant to be on there, it'll be the easiest, it'll do what you want it to do, and then work on the luxury of having it on your newer machines. I literally had a fresh xp machine once I dug her up. I needed to update microsoft net frameworks, and service pack 1 or 2. but I think that was it. You just have to get your drivers straight. Disable updating, delete everything, and install the drivers you want to use.
Title: Re: Galletto windows 7 help Post by: nyet on July 22, 2013, 06:14:28 PM Add/Remove Programs isn't going to help you. You're going to have to remove the drivers using the device manager. Also, you'll probably have to enable hidden devices etc. so you can clean out all the junk.

I found the ghosted stuff on device manager through command prompt last night and it didn't list anything related to usb drivers vag com ext. Are you talking about my general drivers or usb ftdi related? Cheers Jordan Title: Re: Galletto windows 7 help Post by: mk4monster on July 23, 2013, 01:46:25 PM Finished all updates on xp laptop and still getting this message! FFS! am starting to give up
