Title: Immo off problems 1.8T ECU 95040
Post by: MK2-VRT on July 22, 2013, 06:51:09 AM
Hello,

I have problems with immo off, when i make the immo off, it dont work, the car starts and go out.

I have try this with 3 different 1.8T ECU's ME7.5

Anyone knows what i do wrong ?

See the original file and the off file in att.

With EDC15 and MSA ecu's its no problem, only the ME7.5 will not work..I read / Write with UPA..

Regards,

Is that the eeprom from your ecu?

No the ecu is not from myself, i can make it immo off on bench, but i cannot test it on car..

Is that eeprom from the ecu you're trying to turn off, or is it one you got offline?

No no, i desolder the eeprom from the original ECU, read it with UPA and make it immo off, solder it back and it dont work.

Even when i use the program Meucci / Otocheck / Volta / Immo dec / Immo tool.

Can you see what is wrong with the dump ?

Regards,

Some ecu's use different eeproms. For instance, using a narrowband dump in a wideband does weird things.

Try changing 12 and 22 to 04 instead of 02.

What do you mean with : using a narrowband dump in a wideband does weird things ? I dont use another dump or eeprom , just the eeprom that matcht with that ecu.

I will test the next time the immo off trick with 04, but than also recalculated the checksums ? ( -2 )

I think its not posseble to check it with VCDS if immo off is oke ? When i cannot test the ecu on the car, its *$&%^#*

Why are there so many differences between these two files?
None of these look like EEPROMS I've seen before, 8)

ECU's that use 512k flashes have odd eeproms. They XX the login code, and XX the vin/immo ID. They almost look like immobilizer 2, but not quite. If you use an eeprom from a 1024kb flash ecu on the earlier models it doesn't always work right, softcoding will be stuck at 00000, and all sorts of other issues.

AHH that explains alot, but I still don't get the huge amount of differences between the files,
From what I understand a Immo delete is 2 changes and 2 checksums. I don't get the changes,
there is like 300 differences between the 2 files????

If you turn off your OWN eeprom, there will be 4 changes.

@Carsinc,

What do you meen ? When you look at the ori and immo off file, you see only 4 bytes changes, but it make the immo not off..:s its a ST95040 from a 2000 1.8T 20VT

Anyone an idea whats going wrong al the time ?

No I see like 300 changes, is this a universal Immo off bin?
Just change the ori bin, it should work.

No my friend, first unzip the file and than read it with a hex editor !! Than you see no 300 changes but 2.

And this is a immo off from ori bin, but it dont work.

I told you what to do. Instead of changing bytes 12 and 22 from 1 to 2, change them to 4. Then, correct the checksums (decrease the checksum total by the amount you increased the page).

That should work.

ha ha i did not even notice it was a zip file, I'm dumb. :'(
Its always a safe bet to listen to DDillenger.

I have at the moment no ecu for testing, but, can you make dis ME7.5 IMMO ON ? This is at the moment immo off, but it must be on..See Att

I have also a 06A 906 018D ECU that i can make immo off for testing, that is the old version '98

You can try to make the 018D off, and the 95040 immo on.

The 95040 says in Vcds - 01 Engine - 10 Adaptation - Channel 91 = 1 and the 018D says 4

I gave you a solution. This makes the fourth time.

Change the byte at 12 and 22 from 1 to 4. then correct the checksums. I'm not doing it for you.

It dont work my friend..I try 02 and 04 and correct the checksums.

Is it posseble that the 95040 is write protect  or something ?

And you have a sollution for immo off for the 1.8T 06A 906 018D ?

Have you verified you're actually writing the changes to the eeprom by reading it back after writing? How do you know it's not working without testing it in a car? What constitutes "not working"?

Title: Re: Immo off problems 1.8T ECU 95040
Post by: MK2-VRT on August 05, 2013, 06:34:06 AM
I test it with Vcds on the bench ( 08-Measeringblocks group 091 : 4 = immo on )

After write the eeprom i read the 95040 and it looks like oke, i dont know where or what is the problem.

Tomorrow I will check this block on cars I know has deleted immo.

When you see 1, immo is off..4 = immo on.

Not sure this iis right? I had 4 on a IMMO OFF ecu today.

Strange..

Yes i'm sure..01 is immo 0ff, 04 is immo on..I have check that every time and it works perfect..

Work also with TDI engines and the old TDI's 110HP, not the 90HP Golf 3 etc.

Check with VCDS and you will see a message with the cursor op 1 / 4

Please, install the ecu and try it before you assume it doesn't work.

When vcds say 01, why i must test the ecu on a car my friend ??? The immo is then 100% off!

When i see 4, then the immo is on..No car needed fot this check.

But i think you dont know where the problem is ? Same for the 06A 906 018D ecu, when i ask to make it immo off, you dont give a answer..

Maybe make sure there's a file attached! Your 24c02 is EMPTY.

Poor ME7.1.1 guy here to bring some sort of confusion, and complete randomness to the table.

I love coming home smelling of molten metal, my momma dropped off her infamous spinach pie, and decided to clean... Doesn't get any better than that.

My left arm's pretty toasted as I am simply too good to put down my smoke and put on that glove but hey, I work without breaks that way.

Call me newbie but aren't these supposed to repeat themselves? Or did you leave the second half out on purpose?

Thanks, i will test it and replay.

Oh and the reason I said that was because my file repeats at least 4 lines (back up pages?).. The one you posted only repeated two.

Immo3 vs Immo2

Ddillenger,

Your immo off dont work..Checksums are oke ? When i calculated the checksums from your immo off file, than i calculated A7 F4 inst 57 F4 ?

I have write two times your immo off file, after write i read them again and write it succesfull, solder the eeprom back, test it, immo is still on, desolder the eeprom, read it again and everytime after testing he change automatic the original file back ?? ( 50 FF to A0 FF / 9E F4 to 57 F4 )

@Jaxone,

Thx but this is a 24C02 ( older 1.8T ecu ) and not a 95040 from first post.

So i make the immo off after serveral times trying to change the eeprom.

The off file from Ddillinger dont work ( Change wrong adres )

Change adres 0x00C from A0 to 50 and 0x04C from A0 to 50, now is immo off, but you got the error code : 16989 internal control module rom error.

Calculated the checksums and all is oke, in my case 0x00E from 57 to A7 and 0x04E from 57 to A7

In Att the ori and working off file, ( 24C02 ) 06A 906 018D
