Title: AWP to AGU Post by: niijohnnie on July 29, 2013, 02:05:22 PM hello all
I have just replaced my 2002 golf 4 gti AWP engine with a AGU after it went kaput! of course I have DTC for VVT open connection and not often SAI incorrect flow (SAI readiness fails too). however before I consider coding out the SAI and VVT, I want to know whether it will be simpler and possible to flash a AGU ECU bin to my original ecu 06A906032HF? if so what will be the downsides? (at moment i'm all for stock running) thanks for your help. Title: Re: AWP to AGU Post by: matchew on July 29, 2013, 02:23:43 PM ::)

Title: Re: AWP to AGU Post by: vdubnation on July 29, 2013, 02:35:24 PM i think AGU was m3.8.3 so i think your gonna have to mod the current file you have whats your ecu code ?

thanks for your replies, however judging from it I think this way will not be that easy and would be for the experts! I'm a newbie and will therefore rely on you to help me turn off/on the required bits. can I upload my ecu bin for you to show me the location of the bits to work with? I can locate the ESKONF bits but having difficulties with the rest Title: Re: AWP to AGU Post by: ddillenger on July 31, 2013, 11:38:31 AM yes

02' mk4 golf gti AWP Title: Re: AWP to AGU Post by: vdubnation on July 31, 2013, 02:20:34 PM All you have to do is 0 CDNWS
Which is located @ 0x181AF I attached your file with the change made. Needs ESKONF to prevent the code from not having VVT plugged in as well. Change 10C53 from 30 to 33 and you're done. Title: Re: AWP to AGU Post by: niijohnnie on August 01, 2013, 04:55:46 AM thanks guys @ vdubnation , ddillenger. Great work. will work on the ESKONF bits as suggested by ddillinger and flash the bin. will get back with feedback on results after flashing. will work on it between now and the weekend when I can make some time. much appreciation for the quick feedback
Title: Re: AWP to AGU Post by: aef on August 01, 2013, 05:33:17 AM I think you have to tweak something a little because of the small and big port cylinder heads. ???
Title: Re: AWP to AGU Post by: niijohnnie on August 01, 2013, 08:22:45 AM @aef...yeah but for now car runs okay without major issues. however fuel trims at a constant 0% with vag com block 32. i'm suspectimg the vvt open circuit fault code and SAI not setting in readiness may be having some effect on the fuel trims reading. hope to move from there when the trims start reading.

I checked my bin file and could locate the bit 30 at 10C52. 10C53 is 3F. is 10c52 the correct bit to change in my file? Title: Re: AWP to AGU Post by: niijohnnie on August 05, 2013, 10:57:42 AM greets guys!
flashed the bin as mpdified by vdubnatic and changed bit 30 at 10C52 to 33. the vvt dtc and the sai not passing readiness was still appearing. made a couple of changes later to the bits at 181B0 and 181A-8,9,A,B (suggestions I read ). after flashing, sai readiness now passed, evap readiness passed, no vvt error after resisitoring, fuel trims now working. however I have the SAI pump still running and the high rpm at cold start, oxygen sensors and cat tests either not starting or not ending! any suggestions? I've attached the last file I flashed. Title: Re: AWP to AGU Post by: ddillenger on August 05, 2013, 11:07:37 AM I'm sorry, I spaced. It's the 2nd 30 that needs to be changed to 33. 10C55
So: AA FF 00 30 3F F8 30 becomes AA FF 00 30 3F F8 33 THEN you can remove the resistor. Title: Re: AWP to AGU Post by: niijohnnie on August 05, 2013, 11:21:32 AM I'm sorry, I spaced. Title: Re: AWP to AGU Post by: ddillenger on August 05, 2013, 11:40:54 AM Unplug it, change CDSLS to 0, CWKONABG to 0, and ESKONF from
AA FF 00 30 3F F8 30 to AA FF 00 30 3F FB 3F No more SAI or VVT diagnosis. This is all covered in the wiki, give it a read. http://s4wiki.com/wiki/Tuning#ESKONF http://s4wiki.com/wiki/Tuning#Disable_SAI_diagnosis Disregard the error classes (CLASLVE and CLASLPE) as they're not necessary with a proper removal (outlined above). Title: Re: AWP to AGU Post by: niijohnnie on August 06, 2013, 02:13:50 AM @ddillenger...thanks and much appreciation for your patience. have been through the wiki links but will go through again and hopefully be more enlightened.
