Title: Galletto and Nefmoto, only one working..
Post by: littco on March 07, 2011, 12:35:25 PM
Quick question really.

Tried in vain to get Nefmoto to read the ECU on my Audi S3 APY Me7.5, and I think it's because it's remapped and by all accounts some tuner remove the OBD function.

I know nefmoto works as my stock Audi TT works well and I get a good .bin file.

Now I bought a Galletto cable as I thought the best way read the APY ecu was to use boot mode. However today I tried using Galletto in normal mode using the software and it read the ECU and created a 512Kb file without any problems, except that on the ECU read it stated the memory layout as 400BT where as the only option for galletto was BB. I appreciate that this is a Nefmoto forum but thought it strange one worked and the other didn't, or maybe Nefmoto is correct and it can't be read and the other file is Garbage?

Any thoughts and does the BB read rather than BT make a big difference?

Many thanks once again

BB versus BT reading makes no difference.

Brilliant.

Any ideas why Nefmoto couldn't read the ecu and galletto could?

Not saying there is anything wrong with the software just interested in why, guess I'm just a little cautious as it was read so easily by one and not the other.

I don't know myself. I am guessing the software varies quite a lot between different cars. I can read an R32 ME7.1.1 file with Galletto but not Nefmoto, yet both will write the flash.

If you post the log file of the attempted read we can see why.
