Title: Non-turbo ME5.9.2 tuning? Post by: Time 4 Rebuild on September 29, 2013, 10:34:28 AM I'm looking at doing some ME5.9.2 tuning but of the non-turbo kind. The 2 cars I'm looking at doing at MK3 golf with an ABA engine and a later MK4 jetta with a AEG engine. Both ECU's are ME5.9.2 (both NA OBD2 cars).
Here are the questions I have : 1 - I've look at as many xdf and ols files as I could find, though they are either for a 1.8t or an OBD1 car. Some maps are close, I can see what looks like a timing maps in the same range but is it normal for the maps to be located near each other between turbo and non-turbo? 2 - Checksums? I hear I can flash with MPPS but does a clone correct checksums? Can WinOLS do the checksums for 5.9.2? Or since the data is copied 4 times in the file, is that the checksum? 3 - Does McMESS work on these ecu's for logging? 4 - Anyone have a ols for an ABA or AEG engine? As an added benefit VWSurplus is getting ride of brand new ABA ecu's for $99-$149 so I can pick up a good spare or 2 for testing Title: Re: Non-turbo ME5.9.2 tuning? 1 - The one map I looked at may have been close but there doesn't seem to be any correlation to map placement between turbo and non-turbo. Title: Re: Non-turbo ME5.9.2 tuning? Have you had anymore luck with any of this? Title: Re: Non-turbo ME5.9.2 tuning? Post by: Time 4 Rebuild on December 16, 2013, 08:00:27 PM Got side tracked before I got too far on this.
The none-turbo stuff is actually just 5.9 and not much in common with 5.9.2 |
