Title: Secret to finding codewords? Post by: oldcarguy85 on October 17, 2013, 01:05:39 PM All,
Is there some secret to finding codewords? I need to locate a few to remove rear O2 on a 06a906032DL. I've searched the site pretty well, and haven't found much direction aside from someone hinting that codewords were arranged alphabetically. Thanks! -- sorry if this is a real dumb/obvious thing Title: Re: Secret to finding codewords? Post by: ddillenger on October 17, 2013, 01:17:58 PM There are patterns in the hex that are the same for most codewords.
By patterns, I mean 30 digit hex strings that have differences between files, but enough similarities to find what you need if you're adept at recognizing them. It's not easy. Best bet, find a well defined similar file, or post up what you need. I will help when I can. Title: Re: Secret to finding codewords? Thanks very much -- I assume the HS file is probably very similar to the DL (HS is well defined), so i'll start doing some comparison tonight. Is the order usually consistent? I think you were the one that mentioned something in a post buried somewhere about the codewords being alphabetically organized. Am i reading into that too much in assuming the codwords are usually organized in the same order? Title: Re: Secret to finding codewords? if codewords are not the same, use 'beyond compare 3' to find right offset Title: Re: Secret to finding codewords? first, thanks for all the help so far. That XDF for the 06a906032DR is incredibly complete and matches up very well -- thanks! I'm following the wiki steps for rear O2 removal (i think pulled from phila_dot's findings). I found 2 of the codewords that were not in the XDF. the rest, i'm not sure if they apply to 1.8t or not? I'm using the HN map pack as a reference and just looking for patters/values that match up. Could you possibly verify the 2 i found and maybe give me some guidance on the rest? Found: CWDLSAHK - 0x186F7 val: 9 (i think this should be changed to 0) CWKONLS - 0x181BB val: 3 (i think this should be changed to 1 for 1.8t) Can't find (don't have any reference map pack for 1.8t that has these): CDLSHV, CLRHK, CLRKA |
