Title: mk6 gli issue connecting
Post by: vdubber on October 18, 2013, 08:37:39 AM
What's up everyone ? new to this site and nefmoto program . Anyways I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the rite category but apologize if i am . Well here with go with what i need help with . I'm able to connect with mk4's with no problem but now I'm trying to connect nefmoto to my mk6 gli and have tried everything with changing the baud , fast and slow lint . Could it be that I'm using the wrong program to do so ? All i want to do is grab my ecu info and try to upgrade the file to a 1/2 stage tune lol or maybe if someone already has a file tuned can also help me out . I haven't tuned anything yet but want to learn how it's done . I just order a book on how the engine management works and what things need to be changed etc.

Thanks to all that can help  :)

I wouldn't even trust a MPPS clone to do MED9. If you fail a flash having a full read may be the only way to restore it.

I'd get a chinese BDM and frame, but that requires a lot of work. Opening those things up is not easy, and then you have to align everything JUST right. It's not fun.

mk6 gli = med17.5.2

Trying to tune Tricore based Bosch ECUs with close to null experience is like trying to get to the moon with a paper plane.
Not gonna happen.

Get yourself a ME7 powered car (better yet something simpler) and do your homework from the ground up.

Are you saying I've been wasting my time?

I guess that explains the early failures the prototype encountered :(

Learn on something easier.

Just reading/writing that ecu will cost you several 1000 dollars.

Late MK6 GLI's are Simos 12.x

Even worse.

Don't brick ECU's and cover them under warranty- man up to your own mistakes so everyone else doesn't have to pay.
