Title: MPPS clone on golf5 gti med9.1
Post by: majorahole on March 23, 2011, 02:50:43 PM
i am thinking about getting this to flash my gti with, but i want to make sure of a few things first.
1. it will work
2. it can do checksums
3. i dont need anything else (IMMO tool, ect)

i was going to go with a bdm, but i dont want to open my ecu becasue i still have 6 years of warranty. i figure if this works, i can just flash back my stock ori when i go to the dealer.

the place i want to get it from says it can read and write over can, so i would hope that it can.
it also says it can do checksum calculations.

thanks for any input.

You may have issues flashing it in the vehicle through the OBD port, I think it must first pass through the CAN-gateway in the cluster... you could always hook straight to drivetrain CAN bus and do it though.  Also, I could be wrong but I don't believe MPPS clone will correct MED9.1 checksums
