Title: tuning for a lightweight flywheel and lightweight accessory pullies
Post by: userpike on October 24, 2013, 09:54:51 PM
Been looking into playing with the torque reserve for the A/C compressor and Alternator because I am running IE's aluminum OEM size pullies with Fluidampr. Also, I'm running a 7 1/2lb flywheel but not really sure what to do in the software for it. The OEM flywheel is weighing in @ 23lbs. I'm not so sure if there is a torque reserve for "decreased rotating assembly inertia". I read a thread sometime back where something was adjusted for a twin plate clutch but I'm not finding it now. I was thinking of altering the Antirunklefunction maps because the light flywheel is a single mass flywheel unlike the OEM one.
My goal is to get the idle as smooth as possible, get rid of the "fast" idle I get with the A/C off and kill some, if not all the clanging sound that is known to happen on the 1.8t utilizing a single mass flywheel. Also, when the cooling fans come on there is a dip in rpm until the fan motors get the fans blades moving. They are newer fans, I replaced both less than 6 months ago.

Am I on the right track here?
