I saw it on a car TV show once.. Title: Re: Is there a way to let the engine rev up a few ms when pressing the clutch? Post by: littco on October 30, 2013, 04:00:13 PM I think the Audi S3 had/s this. I saw it on a car TV show once.. Audi a4 1.8t Quattro avant has this.. Bloody annoying if you ask me, I thought it was a fault initially, changed clutch switch, brake switch still did it.. Tried a later map and it was gone.. Never bothered to look into why it happened it.. Title: Re: Is there a way to let the engine rev up a few ms when pressing the clutch? Post by: MadCow on October 31, 2013, 11:07:54 AM if I remember correctly it was supposed to help with getting into the next gear faster. Maybe I'm looking at this backwards, but wouldn't you want the RPMs to drop as fast as possible if you're upshifting? Title: Re: Is there a way to let the engine rev up a few ms when pressing the clutch? Post by: black on October 31, 2013, 12:19:30 PM Maybe I'm looking at this backwards, but wouldn't you want the RPMs to drop as fast as possible if you're upshifting? No, the RPS should not drop to prevent lag when shifting... in ME7 there is a MAP called KFTVSA - Retard time for overrun fuel cut-off. This MAP is forbidding overrun fuel cut for a given time when clutch is pressed for shifting. But I don't think this is the reason for the behaviour in the video. But only to the rpm of the next gear. As long as the clutch assembly is funtioning properly, engine rpm doesn't matter until you are ready to engage the clutch. I don't think there is a clutch in this vehicle. Title: Re: Is there a way to let the engine rev up a few ms when pressing the clutch? Post by: black on November 17, 2013, 02:00:19 AM CWTIPIN is what I think you are after thx but from reading the FR about TIPIN. I dont think this has anything to do with this behaviour above... I dont think this has anything to do with this behaviour above... You are correct, Sorry I had read this "Tipin is an increase of engine speed at almost zero load while the engine is declutched" and mis-read its meaning. I've deleted the post to save confusion |
