Title: Re: Boot mode Post by: k0mpresd on November 13, 2013, 09:13:59 AM you will need to pull the cover off the ecu and leave it connected to teh car. As far as i'm aware, there is no way to enter boot mode without removing the ECU cover and grounding boot mode bin during power on. um no. there is no bootmode on m3/5. Title: Re: Boot mode Post by: Bumblebee on November 13, 2013, 11:21:55 AM If there's no boot mode how can I read/write my ecu without bench flashing giac and apr said it can be done via obd2 port. But they said it needs to be in boot mode to do so
Title: Re: Boot mode Post by: oldcarguy85 on November 13, 2013, 11:24:53 AM um no. there is no bootmode on m3/5. sorry for the misinformation (didn't realize that's what that car used). removing contents of that post now (so as not to confuse anyone).Title: Re: Boot mode Post by: k0mpresd on November 13, 2013, 12:32:42 PM If there's no boot mode how can I read/write my ecu without bench flashing giac and apr said it can be done via obd2 port. But they said it needs to be in boot mode to do so read? desolder and use a programmer. write? use the proper tool. I'm new to the flashing audi I've done Hondas and I do realize there is a lot more to audis that's why I want to read my ecu and write my own program for my car
Title: Re: Boot mode Post by: prj on November 17, 2013, 03:57:37 AM You can start by dropping the text speak and using proper punctuation.
These ECU's can only be *written* over the port (and even then, it is tricky if the car is immobilised). To read your original you need to desolder the 29f200 and read it in a programmer. |
