Title: migrating off the 4B0906018P ecu Post by: s5fourdoor on November 14, 2013, 07:59:08 PM my idiotic friend built a stroker motor for a 1.8t without doing his research.
of course i'm willing to help him, but i don't want to reinvent the earth. is there any way to switch off 4B0906018P which uses a me 7.5 narrow-band to something better? also, what was the tool floating around which auto-identifies maps? It's actually quite easy to work with compared to some of the wideband flashes.
With that being said, you can convert to a wideband ecu, 018CH would probably be the best bet, mainly because of how well it is defined, and it was the first wideband file right after 018P for the A4. Is there a thread on this? I'm going to search around. I really appreciate your help. You'd think my friend would have done this damn research before slapping an ATP turbo kit and then building a two-liter, no but no. Just build it and call me I guess was his logic, now I'm like good lord. This will be fun though, it sounds like its not that bad since it can be changed to 7.5 proper with wideband.
