Title: 4B0906018CH 01 avant Issues locating IOP axis and values
Post by: em.Euro.R18 on December 26, 2013, 10:26:20 AM

I managed to sort out rpm's on KFZW and KFZW2 (they share the same axis correct?). If anyone can check on my file and see if I'm doing this correctly that would be a great help. Also As you can see in the image my IRL is fine so I used that to get the rpm address for the IOP but I have no clue where to start for the LOAd axis and values in IOP.

my OLS project file is tagged if you need anything else let me know. I appreciate any time and info you can give pertaining to this subject.

Posted wrong image my mistake. Essentially I'm looking for the adress of IOP's y axis and if any of you know what the deal is with LDRXN its beyond me. I'm quite a newb when it comes to working with OLS and TUNERpro but I'm learning. My understanding of tuning in general is there but I'm not by any means as tech savy as most of you on here.

Oh dear, so you transfered maps from another file, and yet you managed to get KFMIOP so wrong that you had to ask here... don't you even see that the values in your KFMIOP map don't make any sense????

Of course I can see the problem areas. I'm new to using hex editor, ols and Protuner but I'm getting the hang of it. I've taken no computer programming classes in college, im not afraid to admit I'm not as tech savy as most on here. Heres the deal I took a passat bin with a decent xdf used it to compare, took the Audi avant bin used a ch xdf that seemed close enough where I can compare the two using the passat bin as a guide because I havent a clue how you found the offsets or factors. Also used the passat bin to try and locate iop.

I'll have no problem tuning this once I get over the hump of this learning process.

I'm not looking for any handouts I just was wondering if I can get a point the right direction. How do I go about correcting the axis and the actual the values in the map?

Please post the bin, or at least the software version number.

Entered new adress's looks like the values are correct but as you can see the X is wrong and my y I think may have the wrong factor? Also wondering how ya ended up finding the address's.

I'm very grateful for you guys taking the time out to help me out.

Looks like you have the axis swapped.

ohhhh k gotcha  ;D. Well done thanks yet again!

I swapped adress's and everything lines up perfect. Any idea on LDRXN? ALso curious as to why my version of ols would matter...

I wasn't asking about your OLS version (although your OLS was too new for me to open it), but rather your software version so I knew which file to look at in order to give you the addresses!

Your LDRXN address is wrong. It should be 1F1D6.

So in order to find the RPM I start from the hexdumpcurser and arrow over to locate the axis?  1F1F8 or 1F1F6 seem to work maybe F8 more.

What? Hovering over the address only works if it's defined.

Talk to vdubnation, he said you guys were chatty. He'll give you a winOLS lesson!

Thanks! I haven't been able to work with him. Not sure if he's busy but I'm having trouble locating KFLBTS. Once I find that I should be all set for this stage 1 file.

Well, good luck with it. You won't learn if I keep feeding you answers. Open your file, and a well defined one in a hex editor, compare.

Unfortunately not. Post your OLS and I'll export it for you.

Now this is a stage 1 file I couldn't figure out BTS. LAMFA I wasn't sure if I had to adjust any other load axis if I rescaled load so I left the axis as is.
KFZW - lowered timing and rescaled load ais
IRL - adjusted last two load request columns
IOP - left IOP stock
LDRXN - rescaled

I think this would be enough for a stage one file. This vehicle is used only as a winter beater. If you have any suggestions for me I'll welcome them, but be gentle :D clearly I'm new to this side of tuning. If you have a plug in for checksums I'll happily paypal you compensation for your trouble.

Here you are.

I would reduce timing in the areas you increased load, fix and rescale IOP, and revert IRL back to stock.

That's as far as I looked.

Ahhhhh! My mistake I've been in 30r+ mode for a while now, I forgot that load with taper on that tiny hair dyer. I did notice IRL was set pretty high to begin with I was questioning my own judgement on that as well. Thanks yet again!

So far I have IOP IRL LDRXN KFZW and KFLDIMX but KFLDHBN and KTARX is not easy to spot(at least for me). Also do you have any tips for finding CDKAT CDKATSP SPF and CWDLSAHK ? I am clueless as too how you find the address for these. From what I've read you have to find the routine in the hex but I'm not sure what I'm looking for.

SO far I've made adjustments to:
KFMIOP bumped up internal torque values for higher load and LOAD AXIS - which I believe shares axis's with KFZWOP/OP2
KFMIRL - I reverted back to stock
LDRXN
KFZW - lowered
KFLDIMX - increased allowable n75 duty (I believe thats what it limits although I'm not 100% familar with it)
LAMFA - Changed torque request axis and richened multiplier
KFLBTS - I left unchanged because A.) I simply cannot determine 100% if its in the correct address even with comparing to a defined HN bin I can't see the pattern, right now I have it at 193AE, (load and rpm I cannot seem to locate at all) B.) from the data I've seen so far the multiplier is significantly rich enough so that I don't have to worry about a lean condition. Although I'm not completely confortable with if the ETG is met it will be rich enough to toast the cat (which isn't a big deal because it will be deleted soon enough) and hinder the top end in this thing.

now working with tunerpro so I can export the bin.

according to the xdf CWDLSAHK is located at 18613 but from what I've read the address in most applications is 18663. I have no clue what to believe.
