Title: Newb looking for some light shedding Post by: SlvrAvant on January 06, 2014, 12:55:58 PM hey, my name is Ian. Recently acquired an 01 S4 avant 6mt. Looking to know more about the ME7 and its capabilities, figured this would be as good a place as any to start.
I would like to start logging/altering/flashing my own ECU. So please don't hate on my stupid ass questions, just trying to learn. Title: Re: Newb looking for some light shedding Post by: SlvrAvant on January 06, 2014, 01:04:54 PM and I guess my first question, is what do I start with? I know I will need a cable, a few programs and to build a bench flasher. More than that I don't know, however.
I know Ill need a logging program for the ME7, a program to alter the tune and then flash it. I've heard ECUxplot, ME7Logger and Tuner pro thrown around but I do know where I should start. Any help is greatly appreciated. Title: Re: Newb looking for some light shedding Post by: cerips on January 06, 2014, 01:42:17 PM Time to start reading up then.
I'd recommend the stickied topics in the following sections Nefmoto http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?board=33.0 Tuning http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?board=2.0 would be a good start. Title: Re: Newb looking for some light shedding Post by: johnny5 on January 06, 2014, 02:03:32 PM Having a supported cable would be a good start, and install the correct driver file. my ft232r requires these driver files. http://www.ftdichip.com/Products/ICs/FT232R.htm (http://www.ftdichip.com/Products/ICs/FT232R.htm) for me seems like the rar compressed files were corrupt but if you load the exe executable file it will install the drivers on your system. then nefmoto and tunerpro : http://www.nefariousmotorsports.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page (http://www.nefariousmotorsports.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page)
