Title: TT 8J cluster on S3 8L 1.8t
Post by: Il Signor Zetec on January 10, 2014, 08:29:40 AM
Hello everyone!
As subject, I am trying to swap a TT 8J cluster on my S3 8L...
The project has as basys thr use of my original engine,  abs and haldex ecu, then I need the 8j-8p gateway, comfort, doors, steering wheel ecu...
All work! There is only a not nice problem: after the engine start, I have always the message on the fis "close tank flap".
I saw that in USA can be a common problem and this check is done only on the usa cars. My cluster is in km/h and it is an european one.
How can i remove this message?  I tried also to delete the evap diagnosis without success, can be other test to do?
Thanks

If it's only done on American cars change the coding to non-USA

Coding details here http://www.audi-portal.com/en/diagnostic/ecu_10995.html

Failing that find a wiring diagram and close the switch it's looking for!

thanks Cerips, but I tried to recode the cluster as all the possible States/worlds zones without success. Unfortunately, the tank flap hasn't a reed contact on the tank main tube to connecting the wire directly and code the circuit.
Can be something that arrive from engine ecu by CAN?
