Are there some tangible differences between files for the same hardware meaning ecu and engine?? Are you being serious? :) Title: Re: 06a906032rn xdf Post by: SB_GLI on February 27, 2015, 06:52:21 PM Are you being serious? :) Yes. You can crossflash PL/LP to RN. And with the definitions already available, some might choose to use that as their base. Pretty common, even for big name tuners. Title: Re: 06a906032rn xdf Post by: ddillenger on February 27, 2015, 07:10:20 PM Are you being serious? :) Yes. People use whatever file's easiest. That's why everyone uses the 551M and 551L. It's easy. Title: Re: 06a906032rn xdf Post by: vwaudiguy on February 27, 2015, 08:24:27 PM Oh, I understand that, and think its efficient for everyone to use what's best/already defined, as long as it offers the same functionality to achieve your goal. I was wondering if there are actual reasons to use one software version/revision over another using the same hardware. Why waste time defining a bunch of different files that do the exact same thing. Other than for practice I suppose. I guess it would be akin to doing crossword puzzles or Sudoku. I've often heard people saying they prefer one version over the next, and it didn't seem like it was solely because it was better defined.
