Title: 2006 Bentley continental gt ME7.1.1 Boot mode Post by: motorsportsz on February 04, 2014, 04:24:59 PM Hi there
Can someone send me the boot instructions for this ecu. So I can give it a go with my galletto v3 Cheers Title: Re: 2006 Bentley continental gt ME7.1.1 Boot mode Post by: ddillenger on February 04, 2014, 04:41:05 PM You need to open the ecu, then desolder the 000 resistor shown in the attached picture. After that, bootmode as normal.
Also attached is the file that I read :) Title: Re: 2006 Bentley continental gt ME7.1.1 Boot mode Post by: motorsportsz on February 04, 2014, 05:00:55 PM Cheers. The attached picture I believe is corrupted. Once the 000 resistor is desoldered. Do I leave it off

Title: Re: 2006 Bentley continental gt ME7.1.1 Boot mode Post by: motorsportsz on February 05, 2014, 08:29:22 PM cheers mate
i have this picture of my documents here. I know as you said i can desolder the resistor. But do i still have to solder a 1kohm resistor as show? or do i just leave the board. place the bootpins, then read and write the ecu? here is the picture attached sir thanks Title: Re: 2006 Bentley continental gt ME7.1.1 Boot mode Post by: ddillenger on February 05, 2014, 08:31:09 PM Once the resistor is removed it should just be a matter of grounding pin24 while powering the ecu up.
Title: Re: 2006 Bentley continental gt ME7.1.1 Boot mode Post by: motorsportsz on February 05, 2014, 08:39:23 PM So adding a black ground cable on pin 24 as well as pin 2. To power it, read and write it to right?

After that, bootmode as normal. Have you found that you need to remove that resistor for all ME7.1.1's, or is this Bently Continental specific? Also attached is the file that I read :) Title: Re: 2006 Bentley continental gt ME7.1.1 Boot mode Post by: nyet on February 23, 2014, 12:23:17 AM Have you found that you need to remove that resistor for all ME7.1.1's, or is this Bently Continental specific? Removing the resistor on some ME7.1.1 ecus actually does bad things :/ Looks like it is pretty ecu dependent Title: Re: 2006 Bentley continental gt ME7.1.1 Boot mode Post by: ddillenger on February 23, 2014, 12:35:11 AM I have needed to do it, and done so with no ill effects on B6 S4, D2 S8, and C5 S6. I have never put the resistor back, nor have I noticed any issues.
That said, Nye's right. Do not remove it on 2007 ME7.1.1 2.5 ecu's, or apparently spykers. Adding the 1k resistor might be a better choice. I leave it on while reading, not sure if you have to but that's what I've done and I tend to stick with what works. Do you read it success? Title: Re: 2006 Bentley continental gt ME7.1.1 Boot mode Post by: 24vMk1 on July 05, 2014, 10:01:09 PM Would also like to know if motorsportsz had success geting the ME7.1.1 into boot mode by desoldering the 000 resistor in the back.
Title: Re: 2006 Bentley continental gt ME7.1.1 Boot mode Post by: motorsportsz on July 05, 2014, 10:59:09 PM Yes worked well. But as others say stick to the first method
