Title: Help Identifying Unknown Map - KFSW
Post by: tightmopedman9 on February 13, 2014, 12:22:01 AM
KFSW - Schließwinkel Kennfeld - 16 x 16
This is from a Bosch M4.4 system.

It is under the ignition category in the DAMOS.  Y axis is battery voltage, X axis is RPM.

I assumed it was a dwell map, but now I'm not too sure.

Forgot to add, cell values are degrees (rotational I believe)

cam dwell characteristic map

this is a bad translation from a german text:
On high revs you have a lower energy at the spark plug. to compensate this the cam dwell caracteristic map is used.
this map provides the ideal dwell angle at a given voltage and rpm to achieve the ideal ignition/firing voltage.

Awesome! Thanks, I guess I was looking for a simpler map, one that just had dwell time at a given RPM and load. However, the dwell by cam angle does make more sense.

Would I be right in thinking that increasing the cell value will increase the amount of dwell time?
