Title: no communication cant get into boot mode
Post by: wagstach on March 02, 2014, 09:24:44 AM
i can test and save com port in vag com, cant connect to the engine through it. cant connect in bootmode with nefmoto or with galletto or me7_95040. ive checked and recheck my bench wiring... guessing this ecu is scrap ? this is the second ecu i have bought because i cant get the origanal to work after trying to flash with non startard f29800bb-120 chip put in by a tuner

forgot to specify that none of the programs show the ecu in boot mode. ive tried all kinds of combinations with grounding the pin but i cant get any response or validation that it is in boot mode

ive been reading through this forum all day, from what i understand if the ecu isnt entering boot mode that would point to a bad cpu because its not even loading the bootstrap from the eeprom ? or is there an internal memory on the cpu that not loading ? tried to write the eeprom with me7_95040 but got no where.

First things first , you can`t boot with Nefmoto. Please read wiki`s and stuff.
Secondly, are you trying to boot with the correct way ? Find 800BB ,ground pin 24 then apply Voltage. Hold it for 4-5 seconds.
Then try to read with Galletto or any other tool. Me_95040 reads ....well 95040 the immo e2p not flash 800bb.

Boot mode does`nt always work ,try it a couple of times until it is readable with galletto for example.

i have no trouble getting my other ecu to work with all of the above programs, its just this one ecu. ive tried every variation of connecting ground to pin 24 i can find. my other ecu works best with power on to the ecu then ground pin 24 while putting power to pin 63 to get in boot mode. this ecu does nothing. i have noticed when i connect pin 63 on my other ecu that the voltage meter drops a bit at my power supply. this non working ecu shows no drop in voltage when pin63 is connected... dont know if this is related to my problems.
