Title: 2001 m-box audi s4 stage 3-
Post by: Dorny1 on March 20, 2014, 12:39:30 AM
I have a VAST 3- tune for my audi, just had the new 3.5" intake built with the maf bracket from 034motorsports. inner diameter => 84.9313mm. I've used lemmiwinks to tweak my file, but cannot take the tune off to adjust manually. I will be running the nefmoto stage 3 tune when i get my injectors. I want to run the intake now, till I get my injectors, because well it looks pretty (I wont lie, much better than stock piping).

From http://s4wiki.com/wiki/Mass_air_flow (http://s4wiki.com/wiki/Mass_air_flow) says that the deviation for the maf is 35.6% difference from stock to 85mm. So in theory from http://s4wiki.com/wiki/Lemmiwinks (http://s4wiki.com/wiki/Lemmiwinks) I should change the value of the primary fuel tweak to 35.6% in order to correctly scale the maf.

Just to be specific, changing the primary fuel tweak to 35.6% will properly scale the 85mm maf to my stage 3- tune, and thats all I would have to do?

appreciate it, just very cautious since im just starting out with these tunes

Do not do what you're talking about. Just wait until you have fueling to install the intake.

Do not try to use lemmiwinks to tune for a maf, It will not work. Lemmi tweaks only work for fueling in closed loop. When you go WOT the ecu will still run based on tuning. Like DD said, wait til you get injectors too and do a full tune.

makes sense, guess i'll just be more motivated to save up the money for the injectors.

I got a line on siemens 630cc injectors for $180, but im having to hold off as im "college status" and not rolling in the benjamins.

BUT new job next week so hopefully its between you and him, if he flakes out then for sure, but im not sure how to change the file for the ev's. Like said i've only done a few tweaks via lemmiwinks to adjust idle for some people, mostly use nefmoto and melogger to help out buddies with their builds

search berttos stage 3 tune.  siemens are generally frowned on due to erratic low pulse-width behavior.  that said, berttos has an off-the-shelf k04 tune legit stage 3 and refined many times.  just a thought, might not be the worst move.  should run ok - i would guess.  ev14's are much better bang for your buck if you are willing to learn to tune a bit more.

You should jump on those Ev14 - its a good deal.
Siemens 630cc is a shit injector.
Cheers!

I concur with others here, the Siemens 630s are garbage.  Also, start over with your tune.  Vast tunes are a joke.

oh i know, should have known i'd get screwed with VAST, but yeah i would start over but no base tunes to work off for stage 3-. I'm not really familiar with tuning. Only good with logging.
