Post by: bigchalk77 on March 26, 2014, 01:26:01 PM
Hi there all. Name is bigchalk. im medically separated from the army and currently so far lost in a 2002 jetta immo issue im bout to loose what little sense I have left. bout it for my wife to go to school but day before it was delivered the knucklehead head lost the only key. I simply do not have the money to pay a dealer to do a new key, and the more I dig into how to shut off immo the more I get lost. sooooooo ANY help to make this stuff understandable to an old school ( only needs three wires to run) chevy guy would be MOST welcome.

Even if you get the immobilizer defeated, how are you planning to actually start the car? E.g., how are you going to turn the ignition?

If you are getting a new key made, if suggest just getting vagtacho off eBay and matching the new key.

remove the ecu from the car... pop the hood, disconnect the battery, two 13mm nuts pull off the wipers...lift up the black plastic and expose the ecu... then disconnect the two plugs from the ecu... slide the retaining clip on the lef side out and remove the ecu... once you have the ecu out of the car open it up... there is a sealant thats used to keep water out of the ecu so it will be a pain in the ass to split open... once you have the ecu open you have to learn how to put the ecu into "bootmode" to sum that up there is a 28 pin chip on the ecu that has to be put into boot mode to continue... to but in boot mode you have to ground pin 24... then you have to make a bench.......... you know what shoot me a message if you want to mail it to me ill immo off it for you fo free
