Title: Help retrieving SKC and PIN Codes For IMMO / Cluster
Post by: peter on June 03, 2014, 07:32:13 PM
I have a 2002 A6, 2.7t quattro with manual transmission. Been working on it for a while and finally got it put back together with K04's, piggy pipes, stage 3 clutch and a New Battery. It will fire up, but die right away. I scanned it with my VCDS and I am getting "No Response From Controller" for Immobilizer, Instruments, Radio and Steering Wheel. Turns out my cluster is bad, and not communicating with anything else. I'm getting a replacement tomorrow, but would really appreciate help on getting the SKC / PIN codes for IMMO/cluster from the ECU.

Engine codes my car is throwing are:

P1650 missing message from instrument cluster and
P1570 Engine start blocked by immobilizer

Been reading and studying, bottom line is that I have to move out of town in 2 weeks and need to get my baby on the road ASAP.

Thanks for all you are doing! Can't wait to get her running again!  :o

you can use vag eeprom to read the eeprom from the existing cluster and write it to your new one... or if you have no communication to your cluster you can use argdubs eeprom tool to read the eeprom from the ecu then upload it. Another forum member or myself can do one of two things... tell you the skc or immo off the eeprom for you...

If you've got a blue KKL lead, get yourself argdub's tool from here:

and my tool from here:
http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=6134.0title=

Find out what com port the KKL lead is installed on, then run:

me7_95040.exe --OBD -r -p <com port number> eeprom.bin

95040tool.exe eeprom.bin

This should read the eeprom from the ecu, then display the SKC, etc. Ive tested with on my 2001 euro 2.7T and it works fine.

Thanks turboat. I have the VCDS cable and an APR Cheetah cable, but not a blue cable.

Apparently you can use argdub's tool with a rosstech cable, but I was unsuccessful when I tried (admitidly I didn't try for long as I have both). More info on the thread, but I think you can get virtual com port drivers from rosstech.

Yea, put the rosstech cable in dumb mode and give it a shot. If not the kkl cable is very cheap and will do the job requires.
