Title: A6 4.2 Manual swap Post by: Minor Threat on June 25, 2014, 11:35:32 AM Hello all,
I am working on a 98 A4 with a 02 4.2 AWN swap in it. Right now I am working on getting inside the 560AE computer to defeat the immo and code out some things I no longer have the car (SAI, rear o2s) Right now, I've pulled the file off the stock ECU, found the immo location in the hex code and disabled it. I haven't flashed it back on yet because I would much rather use a file that won't be looking for the automatic transmission. My issue/question is this: The file I pulled from the ECU is 512k, the file I'm trying to use (found here: http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=3308.0title=) is 1024k and looks totally different in the editor and I'm lost. I assume it's had the immo defeated, but I don't know how to code out the other things I need to disable or if it will even be able to be flashed onto the 560AE ecu due to the size difference. What should my next step be? I've attached my stock file and my immo off file with checksums fixed, whatever that's worth. You also need to read the flash with nefmoto. That is where the calibration data is stored. Title: Re: A6 4.2 Manual swap Post by: Minor Threat on June 25, 2014, 12:17:22 PM Got it.
Also, it may be worthwhile noting that you need v5 of Tunerpro to get all that stuff to work. I was using an older version by mistake and it was pulling up all 0s in the tables. @k0mpressed, sorry that should be AWN. Title: Re: A6 4.2 Manual swap Post by: Minor Threat on June 25, 2014, 03:07:15 PM I have broken something. I was working on flashing my immo off file, attempted to get into boot mode and got the attached error e0x07. Tried a few things, seperated pin 3 power on my bench harness and powered the other pins first, then powered pin 3, no change, still unable to get into boot mode. Then I tried to read my ECU again, and got the same error code. Please note, I get the same error message when trying to read with the OBD command, and write with bootmode command.
Thoughts? Title: Re: A6 4.2 Manual swap Post by: Minor Threat on June 25, 2014, 03:51:06 PM I'm also unable to connect to the ECU via VCDS, Nefmoto flasher software or Monoscan...
