Title: Problems with immo off 022906032BG ECU
Post by: thegtiman on June 28, 2014, 05:49:46 AM
Guys,

I have been having some issues to turn off the immo on an R32 VR6 ECU.
VW part number as in the title.

This is what I get when I get the ECU into bootmode.

C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\ECU Diagnositcs and tuning stuff\Imm
o Stuff>C:\nef\me7ver140 --bootmode 95P08 --CSpin P6.3 -rp2 BradlyR32read.bin
ME7_EEPROM v1.40
COM: 2, Baud Rate: 10400
Memory type: 95P08, size: 1024
Chip Select pin: P6.3
Opening COM2 ... OK
Starting Boot_mode ... FAIL ... No ECU response. (error=0x20F07)
Closing COM2

I am a bit lost on this as my bench harness works fine on another R32 ECU (032CP) as well as on a 1.8T ECU (06A906032HN).

The map is standard and I have read, compared with a std file and even reflashed with my MPPS with the latest Ver 18 update.
Can anyone shed some light as to why I can getting stuck.

Thanks.

I would guess that its because the ECU hasnt gone into bootmode. Also, you dont need to be in bootmode to read the eeprom, I would try reading over ODB to check your cable etc is working. What tool are you using? I use argdubs tool and havent had any issues.

It was not reading in OBD or in Bootmode.

Solved it though.

Had to move/lift of the SMD resistors on the board and I was able to read and rewrite the updated EEPROM. resoldered the risitor and now all works.

I've never had success with "ME7_EEPROM v1.40",  while "ME7_95040 v1.31" has always worked for me on multiple ecus.
