Title: How to checksum fix me7.5 Post by: turdburglar44 on July 04, 2014, 11:13:13 PM hey all,
just looking for a little guidance on fixing my checksums. It seems like the mtx plugin is incompatible? Is there a way to do it manually? '02 A4 AMB 8E0909518F is the bin. Title: Re: How to checksum fix me7.5 Post by: turdburglar44 on July 04, 2014, 11:24:57 PM nvm. its compatible. the way they word the versions on the site was screwing with me ( - 2002)

On the a4 ecu's and the MTX plugin always leaves the CRC uncorrected and so while the ecu seems to work ok, at somestage it will brick, maybe days, weeks or months, but it will happen. If you put the file through winols it will detect the error and correct it.. MPPS has the same issue. Only ever found this on A4 files. Guess I'm starting a business ha... winOLS is roughly 3k... Title: Re: Post by: turdburglar44 on July 22, 2014, 02:38:54 PM So basically the only way I can tune my car is if someone does the checksum fix for me? :-/
Title: Re: How to checksum fix me7.5 Post by: nyet on July 22, 2014, 03:08:50 PM Or help me finish ME7Sum.
Title: Re: How to checksum fix me7.5 Post by: turdburglar44 on July 22, 2014, 03:11:37 PM I would love to. I'm pretty well versed in c++ but would have to brush some rust off though.
until then would ecufix get me going? Title: Re: How to checksum fix me7.5 Post by: ddillenger on July 22, 2014, 03:48:30 PM I would love to. Title: Re: How to checksum fix me7.5 Post by: turdburglar44 on July 22, 2014, 03:54:25 PM Just bought it. $140 is much cheaper than any other tuning options out there and I got a friend who will split it with me. Tuning these cars may be the death of me. I've learned so much and I still feel so small haha. Before this, all I knew of checksums was 'hey I've seen that word before when I was flashing my subaru.'
thanks again to everyone on here. lots of knowledge to soak up. Title: Re: Post by: KmosK04 on July 23, 2014, 08:14:12 AM What did you bought?
Title: Re: Post by: turdburglar44 on July 23, 2014, 08:40:10 AM Ecufix. Just tested it. Works fine for my 8E0909518F. Still get an RSA signature failure but from what I understand that is normal and I don't need to worry.
Title: Re: Post by: SB_GLI on July 23, 2014, 12:56:13 PM Ecufix. Just tested it. Works fine for my 8E0909518F. Still get an RSA signature failure but from what I understand that is normal and I don't need to worry. I've read here that an RSA signature error is irrelevant, but for me, 2004 Jetta, it did matter. I got locked out of the ECU twice due to this. Had to boot mode flash the eeprom to get it to work again. I then started using a different checksum tool which fixed that error, and have not had an issue since. Title: Re: How to checksum fix me7.5 Post by: nyet on July 23, 2014, 01:23:03 PM I would really, really, really like help from others to finish ME7Sum so we can be free of proprietary tools and capricious vendors.
Please! Pretty please! Title: Re: Post by: vwaudiguy on July 23, 2014, 08:06:03 PM I've read here that an RSA signature error is irrelevant, but for me, 2004 Jetta, it did matter. Please! Pretty please! What type of help exactly are you looking for? Do you want someone else to write this for you? Do you need ecu dumps? What can we do to help you finish ME7Sum?
