Title: 02 Volvo s60 2.4t
Post by: bicka0925 on July 28, 2014, 09:36:16 PM
Okay so I'm very new and I know very little. I have a 02 Volvo s602.4t with full exhaust, full intake, fmic, stage 2 rica software.

I'm planning to get a bigger turbo and injectors.

i don't know how to tune a car. can someone teach me or make me a map?. I'm trying to go basically stage 3. I don't have dyno results but I can if they are needed.

This is a tuning that I wouldn't recommend to be done from a remote location. Stock turbocharger isn't fit for more than about 0.9 bars of boost and when changing to a larger 16-19T the turbo allows for more boost to a level where proper logging is really necessary. When I've tuned these cars I've logged several parameters manually (including EGT, back pressure and oil temperature) so to get the most out of it, don't tune the car "offline".

there isn't a way that you can make me a map that I can load on my car then is there?

Based purely on guessing what injectors and turbo you are planning on buying?
No...

Also, I have no clue on the efficiency of your intercooler so thats another "no" I'm afraid.

Lmao I didn't know what to say.. I just know after a lot of wot runs the intercooler and piping is cold to the touch. I'm guessing you probably wanted numbers though correct?

Remote tuning is fine with a decent remote logging solution.

wow that was easy to find you ;D

be honest how hard is it to tune my me7 myself rather than keep shoveling out hundreds and hundreds of dollars after adding new bolt ons to the car?

No-one is going to spoon feed you, for sure.  All of the information you need to make a start is on this forum.  :)

It was meant as that, you took it the wrong way.

My point with saying that the car shouldn't be tuned remote is simply that after having spent thousands of buckazoids on hardware you would probably like to have a software that can extract the +120 horses you are looking for and when pushing the hardware like that, I've found it beneficial to actually sit in the car myself, either in the dyno or on the road.

I'm not saying that it can't be done remotely, I'm just saying that all the ponies you are looking for is easier to find "on location", at least for me.

A simple "stage 1" tune is a different thing and can be done during sleeping on the opposite side of the planet. :-)
