Title: 2L TFSI with big turbo, cant reach more than 2550mbar (1,55 relative)
Post by: s-company on September 24, 2014, 09:10:18 AM
hello,
i have a problem with a 2L TFSI S3 with upgrade turbo.
problem is, that boost drops down from 1,9bar to 1,55 and stays there till 7000rpm. no chgance to get it higher than 1,55.
throttle body is always at 100%!

pressure sensor is 038906051C (original with this car), do i need a bigger one with tfsi engines?
maybe someone can help?

many thanks!

Regards

you can only request up to 2550mbar  ;)

Have a read of this link on how to rescale so you can go over 2550 mBar.

ok so do you think me9 is different to me7?
with me7 there is no problem with higher boost and stock pressure sensor.. there is no limit and no boost cut above 2550mbar..

you mean 2550 mbar absolute (1,55 bar relative)?

Do you have logs showing WGDC?

It's still not freely available but you can patch med9 to keep closed loop control above 2550mbar. And it will then read higher than 2550mbar as requested boost. If you go above 2550mbar on stock code then you have open loop boost which essentially means most of your boost control /correction maps are not effective above.

here you can see wgdc.
for a short time boost is higer than 2550..

There isn't anything wrong.

It's not surpassing 2550 mbar because it is still close loop. It only overshot to 1.9 bar because boost control isn't calibrated to deal with the boost pressure spike.

I have an audi TT 2.0 TFSI with big turbo 2876gtx and I have no problem to reach turbo boost higher than 2.55 bar. Now my setup is 2.1 bar boost peack and 1.6 bar after 7000 rpms. I am not exceeding because I have stock engine (swapped BHZ engine) and I am a bit afraid to increase again. I have seen your log. Have you tried to increase WGDC? seems quite low. You could increase boost changing wastegate but first of all see if your problem is in the software. What kind of pressure would you want to reach?

PLEASE DO NOT POST EXCEL FILES

Post the original csv, preferably from ME7Logger (if supported by your ECU), not VCDS.

@Claudietto
Yes i tried to increase wgdc up to 95% from 2000-7000rpm. Alwaws the same, after overboost i am again at 2550...

Isn't it possible to get the me9 in open loop like me7?

Now that's something I'd be more than interested in...

Also. Make sure you stay under around 1.4 bar until around 3.9k then go for your target boost. Will stop the chatter and you'll find you can boost a lot nicer.

I think it had more to do with "mine is bigger" than anything else. Or speculative hearsay without anything concrete behind it.
