Title: Deletes on a commercial tune Post by: Tshirt2k on September 28, 2014, 02:49:47 PM Hi
Posted in the wrong section. Should have been here 1st. Been lurking a while and found lots of usefule info. :D I have a 1988 Scirocco that i am fitting with a Seat AMK unit. ECU is a 1ML906032. The guy i bought it from mentioned an APR map but is now unsure. I managed to make myself a bench flashing harness and have rerad the flash using an MPPS cone. I've also read the 95040 in boot mode and managed to immo off and flash back. (untested as yet). I ran the bin through Me7check and althogh shows no errors, It shows a warning. me7check v1.12 (c) mki, 06/2004-05/2012 Checking file (Rocco)1ML906032A.bin (size=1048576) Reading Version Strings... -> Bootrom Version = 05.12 -> EPK = 41/1/ME7.5/51/4518.06//24B/Dst01o/131102/ -> Contents of ECUID data table: - '0261208221' (SSECUHN) - '1037367220' (SSECUSN) - '1ML906032A ' (VAG part number) - '0001' (VAG sw number) - '1.8l R4/5VT ' (engine id) -> Contents of ECUID data table: - 'HW_MAN004' Warning: modified all_param_start = 808000 found at 808030 -> No errors found. File is OK. ********************* Any ideas what that means? My question is. At the moment i'm not interested in changing any of the map at the moment. I just want to remove rear 02's and the EVAP stuff as i dont need it on this car. Is it possible to make changes to ESKONF and other bits for this and manually calculate checksums to get this to work? When the file is compared to an ori file there are significant changes in certain maps but others look strange. I also cant seem to save any change in tunerpro as it says theres 1 or more checksum errors. If its not possible, is it possible to flash a file from another ECU in the group (below) and do it that way? It is also linked to the eeprom, so don't use a generic immo off file if you want to keep it.
Considering this is an engine swap, and you will need to code things out, consider starting with a stock file as APR cannot be modified. Title: Deletes on a commercial tune Post by: Tshirt2k on September 29, 2014, 01:38:24 AM Ok thanks.
I modified the IMMO from the ecu. And flashed back. So is it possible to use some of the maps from the APR to help start off the mapping process? I have compared some and can seen there are differences. Just not sure what they are all do. I'm more familiar with SEM where I have got a good understanding of calibration from my own and other cars I have been in. The ones in factory locations are the original calibration. Start over. Nothing from the APR file is usable. Any more info on this? How does the eeprom play its part in it? what happens if you flash a standard immo off eeprom? I'm curious Thanks Title: Deletes on a commercial tune Post by: Tshirt2k on September 29, 2014, 03:30:49 AM No. The tuned maps are moved and encrypted. One of the lambda maps shows richer at WOT.( can't remember which one) and ignition has more advance on one of the maps. There is a lot that seem to be undefined also. Will need to research what needs changing. Is it possible to flash another file on maybe starting with a 225hp map rather than a 210hp? Title: Re: Deletes on a commercial tune Post by: vwaudiguy on September 29, 2014, 12:18:53 PM Tuning ME7 is difficult. Dealing with all the German acronyms is another challenge, or at least time consuming. Then there is the process of finding/making a proper definition, and then mapping/flashing/logging and repeat. To add trying to figure what another tuner (not so great if you go by many of the opinions on here) did to move some of their maps around and encrypt things seems like insanity to me...
