Post by: Waspjr on November 15, 2014, 09:49:57 PM
Ok so I have a working cable i confirmed this on my b6 a4 its a 232r ftdi i have the latest drivers via the ftdi site. Now I have k line at 43, 12v at 62, ground on 1 and tried 2 and 12v on 3. Thats ecu side now obd side is 4&5 gnd tried just 5 as well Kline is 7, 16 is 12v  i tried grounding pin 24 before power on for 5&10 sec. Also ground 24 power on ignition power off then on held ground for 5 sec then removed then ignition off. And i still can't get nef or 95040 to connect. Am i correct in using not kwp2000 but boot mode on the nef menu.
Please help i am at a stand still trying to get this ecu to work for my 2.7 swap
Thanks

Bootmode in nef doesn't work, use argdub's tool to read the EEPROM.

Ok good to know i was mainly using it to check if i had the ecu in boot mode and I was using argdubbs tools the whole time. Is it just me or are some me7.1's stuborne

Well still no joy i had a old me3.8 and i managed to link it and connect to nef. So either i have screwed my me7.1 or it was dead before.

Can you connect to it in obd mode with Vcds, or anything really? First check that the bench cable is working properly, then worry about boot mode.

No I cannot connect with vcds nef or argdubbs tool.
The me3.8 i could connect via nef but it would let me do anything aparently a unreadable EEPROM from my readings. And vcds would connect or argdubbs
