Title: Different connectors on AEB ECU's? Post by: Terror_Flynn on November 16, 2014, 02:27:21 AM So, is it a difference with the ecu connector on AEB ECU'S, and which year do they change?
Title: Re: Different connectors on AEB ECU's? Post by: turboat on November 16, 2014, 03:05:10 AM AEB is cable throttle, so presumably me3.8.3? In which case, yes they are different. And whenever they changed to a drive-by-wire engine.
Title: Re: Post by: Terror_Flynn on November 16, 2014, 04:55:47 AM My question was not that clear.
I know the things that differs ME7.5 ECU'S, like ecu connector, dbw throttle and so on. What I want to know if the (only aeb, no me7.5 stuff) AEB ECU's connector differ from each other pending of year? (Audi a4 platform) Title: Re: Post by: ddillenger on November 16, 2014, 05:07:51 AM My question was not that clear. Title: Re: Post by: Terror_Flynn on November 16, 2014, 10:26:26 AM Hmm.. So every pre-me7.5 ecu on Audi a4 1.8t has the connector type that has like 5 independent connectors?

All M38x and M592 Turbo and nonTurbo ECUs uses the same connector. Little differences are only in wiring harness. So they do have that 1 long and 1 short connector type!
Thank you, now I am 100% sure about AEB ECU's connector type. So those with 5 independent connectors must be from diesel engines. Title: Re: Different connectors on AEB ECU's? Post by: panos1975 on November 16, 2014, 11:33:02 AM 5 indepentent connectors? for sure it is not from vag group car, either gasoline, either diesel....

But I'm pretty sure i saw that kind of ecu in a Audi a4 when I was at the local junkyard hunting for ECU's.

Title: Re: Post by: Terror_Flynn on November 16, 2014, 08:30:03 PM OK, that's good info that I didn't knew.
The car had no engine in it so I didn't look for other clues about what engine the car had, I just looked at the ecu that was still there. Title: Re: Different connectors on AEB ECU's? Post by: TCSTigersClaw on November 27, 2014, 03:22:37 AM Hitachi ? European AEB did use Motronic 3.2 , it is that in the picture :D and they are not flashable ofcourse
unless i am missing something Title: Re: Different connectors on AEB ECU's? Post by: eliotroyano on November 27, 2014, 05:41:24 AM I haven't seen that too :o :o :o :o ??? ??? ??? ???
Title: Re: Different connectors on AEB ECU's? Post by: TijnCU on November 27, 2014, 07:11:00 AM All (Euro) ecu's up to '97 are 5 plug, from m.y, 97 its the big and small plug. According to my ElsaWin.
It's Bosch M3.2, and is at least also used on the 1.8 20v N/A Title: Re: Post by: Terror_Flynn on November 27, 2014, 12:55:06 PM Does that apply for the 1.8t AEB too?
Title: Re: Different connectors on AEB ECU's? Post by: TijnCU on November 30, 2014, 02:28:57 AM I'm not sure about non european models, but my AEB 96 had this ECU. My friends has 2 ADR engines also both with this ECU.
Title: Re: Post by: Terror_Flynn on November 30, 2014, 02:59:22 AM OK, it is the euro models that I'm interested to know about.
So early a4 with AEB has those 5 plug style ECU's. When do they change to the 2 plug style ECU's? (And still be AEB engine) |
