Title: How do I know which stock file is right for my car?
Post by: Alpinab7 on November 27, 2014, 08:07:10 AM
I am looking for a stock ECU file for a 2003 Audi RS6 (US version). I see several here but each has a different "software number". For example:

4d1907558 - 366304 (six digit number is the software number)
4d1907558 - 367724

Does it matter which one I use? I need to go back to stock software for a state inspection and they have been breaking my balls. I don't have the original file or any logs that show the software number.

Thanks

Considering I replied to your first post with a 2003 RS6 US file, I think the best course of action would be to download it.

Happens to the best of us :P

If you need any help, lmk. I presume you have a manual RS6 and are having issues?

Yes I need help. Also, don't I need a .bin file rather than a .rar file? Obviously I don't know much about this but I am just trying to reflash to stock for now and save my current tune. I am not attempting to do any tuning or mods to any files.

A rar file is a compressed file, decompress it and there'll be a bin file in it ;)

I didn't post a rar. I posted a binary. I just didn't add the .bin extension. Feel free to add it if you want (rename it .bin) but there's no need.
