Title: AFR in instrument cluster display? Post by: thelastleroy on December 06, 2014, 05:32:56 AM Is it possible to create a display in the cluster screen for the stock wideband sensor reading? I'd sacrifice the "average speed" tab.

You can't simply add some menuitem, but you can "abuse" the radio (music info) part of your cluster. So you must block the radio canbus cmds, and send your own. This has done by many people before, do some googling and you'll find some examples. You can even buy complete units which will do this for you (show sensor data on your cluster display). I did some searching and all I could turn up were a few companies selling "magic boxes" that get plugged in to the factory cluster harness an the cluster $$$.
Is this setup the only way to accomplish my goal? I was hoping there would be a way to reprogram the cluster software to watch a different input (O2 volts) and display the numbers. However, with the rise of cheap, programmable SOC kits (arduino, raspberry pi etc.) it would actually be a pretty straightforwards DIY project if you know your way around CAN. Just looked at the fis-control site, a mate bought one of his units last month, but it says that as of December 2014 he has stopped selling them.
