Title: Audi 1.8t 8D0907557P Self tuned Log Question
Post by: bmorunning on December 14, 2014, 02:44:41 PM
I have been logging my new tune and discovered that the injector timing is maxing out. I am running 18-19 psi of boost with 252cc injectors. Question is, is it time to upgrade injectors? If so where would you make the changes in the tune for larger injectors. Overall Plan is around 250-300hp on my K04.

I think if you want to run that much boost, you will need larger injectors. I ran out of IDC at anything more than 14psi, and with K03 turbo. You don't want to go lean.

Read S4 wiki for the tables to change and formulas etc. KRKTE for example...

Check out Nyet's signature for free ECUxPlot software. You can make graphs from your csv file. Its easy to use and you see whats going on clearly

Have been doing some more research of the injector pulse. I guess it's just a limit of this box? By upgrading injectors and maf I think that it will keep it from maxing out. Am I way off here? Based off a lot of people's tunes for the AEB NDBW a vr6 maf and 440 injectors seems the norm. With that setup I see guys have normally around 220-250hp with 250-300 tq. Which would totally be fine with me until until I want to upgrade again.

All of your timing tables will have to be redone when you change injectors.

Some comments on that old ECUs is that you don't see IDC (injector duty cycle) just injector pulse width in ms (miliseconds).

Other thing I have seen with that old ECUs is that 16.32ms is some kind of ECU datalogging max to show you through KW1281 protocol. It is like a limit not max injector duty cycle. People please correct me if I am wrong. That is what I have saw from my experience and readings.

That's very interesting and great info, would of never thought of a data log max. I'll have read up and see what info I can did up on that.

I don't mind remapping ignition tables if I upgrade to the larger maf and injectors. I rather not have my injectors maxed out.

Thanks for all the info so far.

Is 300hp really reachable with the k04?

Not easily but I think it's been done with WMI, different exhaust manifold, injectors, etc.

~270/280 is the max really I believe.

Best way to verify here is a wideband!

I agree, I think its time to pull the cat delete pipe and weld in a bung for a wideband. Maybe remove the spacer on the second O2 and delete it in programing then install it there. Maybe to far away from the turbo? Ill have to see what the recommend distance for the LM2 is.

I know 300 is asking a lot from a K04 but we can all dream like I said 250-300 would be the goal.

Water/Meth would be fun.

I also have an LM2 and is fitted where the second O2 sensor was, I would think it's fine, after all when you go to a dyno it's plugged in to the end of the exhaust isn't it.

Can't get much further away than that :)
