Title: The Stages Post by: jetyluka on January 09, 2015, 05:11:40 PM Hello guys i hope this isn't a too dumb question i was wondering when people say "I have tunned my car to stage 2 or 3 etc.."
what do they actualy mean by that what do those stages represent :) Title: Re: Post by: thelastleroy on January 09, 2015, 05:38:01 PM Stage (x) means many things to many people, and the meaning changes widely among different makes of cars or even which group of enthusiasts you ask.
Having said that, you can reliably say that stage 1 is modifications to be faster than stock, stage 2 is modifications to be faster than stage 1.... etc. It's actually pretty lame to hear someone talk about their "stage X" car IMO. I expect the term came from "package" vendors selling upgraded parts and software to suit a given car. The "tunerforce stage 9" kit for $22,000..... Its all just a way to generalize how "fast" the car is.... Most street cars aren't actually fast in drag racing numbers. But I digress. However, based on what is out there in the market (and 'stage branded') generally it means: Stage 1: Stock hardware and a tune. Stage 2: Basic changes hardware and a tune. (TIP and exhaust for example) Stage 3: As above but taken further with hardware (injectors, WMI, bigger intercooler, etc.) Note I say generally... This is not set in stone and some may beg to differ. Its what it means to me basically. Title: Re: The Stages Post by: ddillenger on January 11, 2015, 07:06:57 PM The last time we discussed this:
