Title: Mbox s4 Stage 1 Homebrew review Post by: ollieoxenfree on March 08, 2015, 12:31:07 AM Hi Everyone,
I've been lurking the forum for a while now and have been working on a stage 1 tune for my Audi b5 s4. I am new to the applications but have been spending a lot of time on the wiki reading up on me7 tuning. I've been waiting for a vag cable to arrive so i can flash and log this tune. Now that my cable is nearly hear my laptops HD took the dive so now I have to fix that as well to be able to flash. This project was semi-parrelled to the stage 1 community tune project but I did not jump in there because I was more interested in a higher psi tune than they were plotting on. I am a newb to these cars and all definitions were created under my interpretation of the data collected here and on the wiki. Plz excuse me if I am misguided and try to point me in the right direction. I would appreciate it if someone would have a look at this base tune I've created to see if it would be safe enough to flash an begin logging off of? In addition, If anyone is feeling like going above and beyond some logs would be amazing since my laptop is down. * edit: modifying fueling tables further before posting .bin...To be continued Title: Re: Mbox s4 Stage 1 Homebrew help Post by: ollieoxenfree on March 08, 2015, 12:11:05 PM I noticed, while reviewing some of the older tunes for the s4, alot of them don't have any lamfa corrections made(ie. jude's 91oct file/Ripped off awe tune.) Did they go about fueling in a different way than lamfa or is fueling stock on these examples? I have about 10 tuned files that I found floating around for comparison. Don't plan on flashing any of them because who knows whats floating around in someone else file but its very interesting to see how others go about tuning these boxes. The fuel and timing has me hung up a bit though.
Any constructive critizm, advice or links would be greatly appreciated. Consult the s4wiki. Title: Re: Mbox s4 Stage 1 Homebrew help Post by: ollieoxenfree on March 08, 2015, 03:01:23 PM LAMBTS. Consult the s4wiki. So if I'm getting this, they are using LAMBTS to supply additional fuel if the egts go above a curtain temp as opposed to the stage1 tuning guide which recommends using LAMFA and driver requested torque to apply a driver requested A/F ratio. Leads me to believe I should set lamfa for the majority of the fuel management. Set up LAMBTS for high egt enrichment and setup KFLAMKR for fueling under knock conditions here. Let me know if I'm on the right track. Also can you pull down my bin for now. I want to spend some more time in the fueling tables and couldn't figure out how to delete the attachment Title: Re: Mbox s4 Stage 1 Homebrew review Post by: kyleb999 on March 10, 2015, 08:03:14 PM BTS uses the egt model to provide fueling based on a calculated egt. The egt sensor is there as a backup.
