People are putting all this work into trying to simplify something that just can't be.

I remember seeing a guy using this little box on a Subaru that seemed to do everything a VAG guy could ever dream about. I guess it's not as awesome as I thought?

You are limited amd contolled. I am a Cobb tuner, its a hassle.  Would rather customers spent the money on more hardware and stayed open source.

Motronic is far more complex than anything a subaru has.

The odds of *automated* mapping "simple" concepts into map modifications of a Motronic file successfully are zero.

AccessTuner Race would be for end user (consumers) - the AccessTuner PRO they mail you a security dongle.  I think maybe because they started to offer a number of other bosch powered units (ford, porsche and bmw) - they are thinking about VW/Audi?

Either way the OTS maps arent so great - and its an expensive little gizmo just to flash the car with it...

at least for my brothers EVO X he had the map editor they called "Race software", i think. i didnt get a chance to even mess with it, as he got a divorce quickly after i installed the wideband bung. i almost didn't believe him when he said that his 2011 car wasn't wideband! didnt even have time to wire in my LC-1. (probably a good thing) but it seemed on par with the other editing software for evo's and such. he quickly traded it in for an altima....smh

In WRXs, there is a direct correlation between presence of Cobb Accessports and exploded ringlands.

The 2.5 engines grenade on stock software as well due to the shitty pistons.

Open loop delay and tip in enrichment take 30 seconds to tune on a subaru. It isn't that big of a deal. The worst thing about subaru factory tunes is the 10.0 or lower AFR everywhere under boost.

10.0, that's lean by Subaru standards. Most peg the wideband meter :D

I almost exclusively tune Subarus - and if you go lower than 11.0 - fuel gets beside the piston and makes it even worse...  This is a bad thing - and part of th ereason Cobb Stg2 = broken.

On the dual avcs cars i run them between 11.6 and 11.8 on stock turbo - with significant changes to intake cam advance...   Single AVCS cars from 09-14 I do 11.3-11.5 with close to 30deg int cam advance up until peak torque.

bigger turbo on those 08+ wrx is the key to keeping them together...  I have a few guys with sorta big turbos with 400hp or more 150K+ on 08 and up wrx's on stock engines/cams - those VF52 turbos make too much torque for it to last.

yes but most people swap to the VF52 since its ~400 bucks

anyone that has a 08 is instantly in the classifieds hunting down a vf52
